We really enjoyed dinner here because this restaurant is away from the tourist crowds. The food was really fresh and tasted excellent, waiters were super friendly. There was traditional live music which added a lot to the atmosphere. We would recommend this place to anybody who wants to get away from the tourists and enjoy high quality local food.

We spent two evenings here during our recent trip to Alicante and it was a lovely place to celebrate my birthday in authentic Spanish style. There is a bar area with a few tables by the entrance, where a guitarist plays on some evenings, and there is a quaint dining room at the back of the restaurant with about a... More

First of all you dont go here for the standard Spanish fare. the lady who runs the place seems to make up a different menu each day on what she feels like cooking so it was interesting made up of fish and a meat main and various starters and dessert. Ok its not fine dining but you go for the... More

I found what I thought was a little bar tucked away in one of the little terraces near to Santa Barbara castle. My spanish is not good, I can get away with the pleasantries. I went in and managed to ask for a glass of red wine with tapas. I assumed I would be given a menu. I was not.... More

We love the feeling of this restaurant! Me and my husband took our two year old son came to have lunch, as soon as we went in, our son was attracted by the live guitar music. And the other family already there are very welcome us to join them to enjoy the music. It feels like going back to mom's... More

If, like us, you have a fondness for more traditional and authentic local places when in Spain, you should check this out if in Alicante. We stumbled across this place whilst wandering around Alicante old town. Love this sort of place; a bit way back in the old town so as not to be spoiled by mass tourists, retaining a... More

Enjoyed a lovely meal here and experienced local Spanish fayre at a reasonable price. Although we don't speak Spanish, we were able to order a 'Three Menu' fish and chicken tapas selection with the generous help of the resident musician - a Canadian classical guitarist who entertained us throughout the evening. The selections (EUR18 each) started with a ham/cheese selection,... More

We came across this taberna by chance at lunchtime. We called in for red wine from Alicante and were offered several delicious tapas alongside the wine. We were so impressed that we decided to return for our evening meal. We had a number of tapas to start followed by a delicious paella. All the food was seasoned beautifully. We thought... More

We enjoy this restaurant so much that we stayed overnight in Alicante in order enjoy dinner in the evening and then a lunch the following day! Both met our expectations. We always leave it to our host (the Chef) to bring a selection of various tapas (all home made) followed by a main course and have always enjoyed what has... More
