Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Hands down to the best tendon I've had. Fried to perfection. A bowl of goodness. Consistent quality and taste for past 3 times in 2 years. If you're willing to queue a little you'll know is worth the wait. We'll always make time for this...whenever we're in Tokyo without fail.More

The serving staff will make helpful suggestions on trying the rice without breaking the egg yolk first then see the difference. Egg yolk makes a significant difference.

Tastes Awesome. And the price deserves more ¥980엔인데 너무 맛있어서 깜짝 놀라는 맛입니다 튀김덮밥 느끼할 줄 알았는데 전혀 아니에요. 한국인 입맛에 맞는 달콤한 간장에 기름으로 촉촉해진 밥.. 일본에 다시 간다면 이 텐동 때문에 가는 걸 거에요

Came with family and my son checked out Tendon Kaneko Hannosuke .I was forewarned it may be a long wait.Well I was game for it and the queue was long and we waited for one and a half hours.Turned to be the best tendon tempura...rice bowl I have ever had.The serving was big with a large conger eel, two large prawns, octopus ,egg ,vegetable and rice for only 980yen and miso soup for 120yen. Is it worth the long wait? Well if you are a tourist looking for excellent food and of good value, the answer is a definite yes.More

The ‘Tendon Bowl’, more or less the only item on the menu was incredible. The two of us had a bowl each with miso soup for roughly 2200¥ which is very good value as the Tendon bowl is plentiful. Two crispy prawns, one huge and...meaty eel, an unctuous fried soft boiled egg, scallop kakiage, a crunchy piece of nori and shishito pepper sitting atop a mound of fluffy rice and doused in a savory tare. Can’t ask for much more on a rainy day. Got there at about 6:45pm when it was pouring cats and dogs and was seated immediately. By the time we left, 45min or so later, there appeared to be a decent wait.More

Restaurant refused to return change for our meal. By far my worst experience in Japan to date. If you come here, count your money and have exact change.

Had to wait for about 90 mins before I got in during lunch with most in the queue being tourists. Managed to get 1 of the 6 counter seats on the ground floor (I believe there are another 14 seats upstairs at tables). They only...offer 1 thing on the menu - tendon. A superb tempura rice bowl with soft egg, prawns, squid, conger eel and a little greens. You can add additional pieces of tempura and miso soup and beer. If you can't stomach the wait, note that they offer ready-made bento boxes to take away - many locals went for this option.More

I found this one on the internet and when I was at the place, there were 30 people waiting in line! I thought, this must be good! And it was...after 70 minutes waiting, i was my turn and wow this is the best Tempura you'll...ever eat! Totally haute cuisine. The place and people working there are so nice and skilled, do not miss this restaurant when you are in Tokyo!More

天丼の有名店 ここは1,000円でコストパフォーマンスが良いのが一番のポイント。なのにもっと美味い店があるとかのコメントはナンセンス! Tendon(A bowl of rice topped with tempura and a sweet seasoning sauce) Not high cost, 10$ But you need wait 1h!!

My boyfriend and I stumbled across this place for late lunch (4:45pm). The line was not that long (the wait was about 30-45 mins) and moved pretty fast. We ordered the Edomae Tendon Bowl, which was amazingly priced for the amount of delicious food you...got. Our favorites were the eel and the chunky squid. I wish I had a second stomach, so I could have ordered two bowls. So YUMMY!! It is not a place to have a long, relaxing meal but don't let that dissuade you from trying it. You have more than enough time to eat and enjoy your light, fluffy tempura bowl.More

We arrived just before the shop opened and the queue was already long!! We waited for 1hr and 15 minute in cold weather (5degrees this morning), but it was very worth it!!! Tempura bowl was HUGE, and we also added addition egg, miso soup and...extra shrimps. Yea we got TOO FULL having that big portion, but we don’t know when we will come to Tokyo again! 😂😂More
