Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We initially were looking to create our own food tour around Shibuya when we stumbled over restaurant Cedros. Japanese Californian fusion sounded so interesting we couldn’t resist, so booked a table. The food, all seven courses was amazing, so well thought out and cooked to...perfection. Each dish just as delicious as the last, we really struggled to pick a favourite. The service was super efficient and friendly, serving some delicious wines. Cedros menu is fish forward, so if you enjoy seafood you definitely won’t be disappointed, best to make a reservation though as there are limited tables.More

Tucked away in the small street of Daikanyama, this place cozy and full of surprise! The menu is well-designed and well-balanced, I ordered a 5 course tasting menu and it was the perfect amount to leave you satisfied and crave for more next time! The...dishes were fresh, delicious and creative, I will definitely go back and highly recommend to those who haven't been yet.More

I can’t say enough good things about this hidden gem in Tokyo. It combines the traditional Japanese omakase style with a Californian twist. Everything on the menu was amazing and so fresh. Exceptional service and great wine selection as well. I can’t wait to come...back.More

Brought the team for group dinner and they were all incredibly impressed by the excellence of the food and service. All the dishes where exquisite culinary delights and beautifully presented. Everyone also loved the ambiance of Cedros. After a busy day of meetings everyone could...relax and forget issues of the moment. One person even commented that it was like being transported to an Oasis. Would highly recommend to everyone who wants fantastic food while enjoying the wonderful atmosphere that the Cedros team brings to their restaurant.More

In terms of food, Cedros delivers a really fine selection of fresh products beautifully prepared. Fish tacos and lobster risotto were really, really delicious. The vibe is great, the brothers owning the place managed to create a laid-back and sophisticated atmosphere. Finally, the location is...perfect, being one of the most vibrant neighborhoods of Tokyo. Highly recommended.More

tucked away in a corner of Daikanyama is one of Tokyo's best restaurants that effortlessly combine California-inspired Pacific seafood with Japanese best-of-class ingredients. (note they just reopened in June of 2023, after a 2-month renovation apparently). went here last night for the first time with...my wife to celebrate her bday and was hugely impressed by the ambiance, the friendliness of the staff, and of course the food. It's seafood fusion in all the best ways. hands down one of the best seafood restaurants in Tokyo. the brothers who own and run this place are laid back and really approachable.. they grew up in SoCal before moving back to Tokyo to bring a taste of California to Japan. it's a killer story that you can ask them about, which makes for an interesting conversation while you're dining. there are 2 different set courses (at least for now) and it's fairly priced -- we chose the 7-course set with 3 standouts: the seared Tuna Tostada with mango jalapeno sauce, the soft shell crab tempura with cucumber pineapple mint sauce and their lobster truffle risotto (signature dish)! each subsequent plate topped the one before it seemed.. needless to say, I'll be back and highly recommend that you check this out before there's a large wait -- it's a can't-miss spot!More

My favorite seafood restaurant in Tokyo! Been here so many times with my husband and will continue to come. The food is truly delicious and unlike anything I tried before, the atmosphere is nice, and the staff are friendly and engaging which is something I’ve...missed ever since moving to Japan.More

Cedros was closed during COVID and recently opened up with a new look and an amazing new menu. The dining format has changed and now only offers a Chef's course menu. A seven - yes seven - course menu for only 16,000 yen. Considering the...quality of the cuisine and the great personalized service this is a bargain compared to other venues in NY, LA or Vancouver. Speaking with chef, Lui Shirako, it appears that the menu is perfect for diners with large appetites but too much for many of their patrons so there is some talk about offering a smaller selection. I look forward to going back when this happens since I left super satisfied but didn't need to eat for an entire day afterwards. OK. Let's talk about details. Here are some of the dishes I had but please note that the menu is seasonal and thus changes daily so there is a good chance that these items may not be available: Fresh Uni and Fatty Tuna Tartare with Japanese Pickled Radish, Fresh Horseradish, Shallots, Chives, Flying Fish Roe and Caviar Seared Japanese Cutlassfish Hand Roll, Shichimi Cucumber Sauce and Micro Shiso Peppered Tuna Steak Tostada with Mango Jalapeño Sauce & Passionfruit Orange Sauce Fried Zucchini Flower Tempura Stuffed with Creamy Crab Pepper Jack Cheese and Chipotle Tomato Sauce Grilled Japanese Alfonsino Fish with Aonori Seaweed Risotto Seared Scallop with Snap peas and Passion Fruit sauce Finished the meal with a cup of coffee with fresh mango panna cotta During the course I had the following wines that were paired perfectly. Kimura Cellars Albariño Poe Chardonnay All in all, the wait was well worth it. No wonder Cedros is considered one of Tokyo's finest.More

8 years ago, this was my wife and I's first dinner in Tokyo on our honeymoon. The atmosphere and food were both fantastic! We are from Los Angeles and the owner has a history in San Diego. He chatted with us and was beyond nice...and helpful. He helped us get a reservation at another restaurant while on our trip where we met our adopted Japanese grandparents. We became such close friends and visit each other every few years now. We love them dearly! I am writing this now because we are coming back to Japan in March, and this will again be our first dinner. We hope to run into the owner/chef again! Cedros is a must if you come to Tokyo.More

This was probably our fave meal in Tokyo. Absolutely amazing, fresh seafood cooked creatively. The soft shell crab tacos and tuna carpaccio are a must order. The cocktails were delicious too. Fun atmosphere and great staff. Recommend sitting at the bar for the full experience!

The food was so bussin, but it was extremely salty so I thought it was the seasoning.I asked the waiter what happened to the food he said if I wanted ranch to fix the problem. When I got the food back the sauce was slightly...slimy, but definitely bussin. 😋 When I found out what had really happened, I wasn’t suppressed why it tasted so good. 😫 but I am allergic to nuts so almost died. It was worth it ☺️😉More

Wonderful food and great owners! Love the ambiance, delicious food, fresh ingredients and beautiful plating for your Instagram. Just one recommendation, since its a sea food place, you could increase the sea food portion in your mains. You can charge more and add more as...honestly the whole gang thought we didn't have enough of the sea food element in our mains. Give us more of that delicious sea food!More

There are countless opportunities to shop in the
Shibuya and Harajuku districts, especially in shops
that focus on Japan's "Kawaii" culture. The trendiest
areas are around Shibuya’s Center district, Harajuku's
Takeshita-dori and in Omotesando. If you need to
recharge from all the shopping, you can easily refresh
yourself in Meiji Jingu or Sasaki Park. In contrast,
Ebisu has a more grown up ambiance of calm and cool.
