I really loved this bar. The food, drinks, and ambiance were all top notch, creating just a really enjoyable experience. After a day of touring Shinjuki, we arrived in the late afternoon on a Sunday. The sunset was nice, but once the sun went down and the lights of Tokyo come on, the view is one of a kind -... More

Sitting there of an evening, with Tokyo twinkling away to the horizon 52 storeys below, a jazz quartet doing a fantastic job of 'On Green Dolphin Street, enjoying an aged single malt and a Montecristo No.2, it is impossible not to feel utterly and totally rock and roll. I strongly suggest you try it.

I went here on a whim - it was my last night and, disappointed with my first venue, I suddenly remembered the fabulous looking bar featured in the film, Lost in Translation. After Googling and realising it was only a few stops on the tube, I made my way over there. It's not a straight forward lift ride to the... More

A co-worker took a group of us there to see where the movie 'Lost in translation' was filmed. It was great experience and we took wonderful pictures from up there. Some of us loved the Hamburger but I decided not to go for it ; ) Nice selection of international cocktails!

Beautiful view. Great jazz music playing. Terrific ambience. Yes pricey but you only live once. We waited about 30 minutes to get in and we weren't staying at the hotel. No kids allowed. Smart casual dress

Definitely not cheap. Costs US$ 150 for 2 shots of hibiki 17 and 1 beer including cover charge for 2. That's probably the only bad thing I can say. The view is spectacular, seeing as far as tokyo sky tree up in the distance with all of Tokyo's lights against the night sky. Jazz band is good. Place is very... More

This is not a cheap night out with a cover charge and expensive drinks . Worth every cent. Great Jazz band and a view to die for. A must do in Tokyo particularly on a weekend night when it is buzzing

Seeing other other men getting dragged in by their girlfriends is to be expected. Nice bar, amazing view and high prices. It's worth the hype and it's classy, if not because of other tourists. It's a classy hotel, at last try to look the part. Because of the touristy feel and because you are not Bill Murray, romance is not... More

My husband slipped and fell in Seattle right before we left for Japan. This caused a rip (@ the knee) in his only pants he packed (our final destination was Thailand). When we arrived at the bar the staff originally ignored us then he was told "No shorts!!". Even after explaining the situation, the employees were completely unsympathetic and treated... More

Came over from the Hilton on my last night in Tokyo. Amazing view, obviously...crystal clear night so you could see forever. Sat at the bar. Ordered two drinks and a food item off of the menu. Still was charged an additional $26 cover charge as a jazz quartet was playing. Seemed egregious to me since I ordered both food and... More

Staying in Shinjuku

Neighbourhood Profile
Shinjuku
Shinjuku is the commuting capital of Tokyo, and contains the busiest train station in the world. To the west, there's an office district with the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Office at its center. To the east, there’s a district with long-established department stores, cinemas and theaters. Shinjuku Gyoen is a park originally built as the garden for the Imperial Household. It is quite famous as a venue for cherry-blossom viewing in March and April. In Shinjuku, many restaurants operate all night, and districts such as Omoide Yokocho (Memory Lane) or Shinjuku Golden Machi have back streets filled with tiny restaurants and bars that reflect each owner’s unique taste and style.
