The cafe is quite near to Shinjuku Gyoen and while it's famous for a kitty shop master, it really is just a cafe with two (gorgeous) cats. Food was average cafe fare, with a small selection of pastas and such. The scones were also delightfully kitty shaped and were better than I expected. The jam given was not too sweet... More

We walked 1.3km in the rain, because it had a good Trip Advisor review Well there was 1 (one) cat that didn't like ppl at all. They said there was 30 teas to choose from... hmm try 10. The 2 men there were smoking.. so all in all a disappointing visit

I think most have died. They are Angry cats for the two that are there. Fine for tea and food. But do not expect to play with cats.

The manager of Die Katze is a cat. This is enough reason to go. Although he seems to be chained to a chair to stop him from bolting out of the front door (pressure of his management role perhaps?) This made my wife question whether or not he was actually the manager, but he clearly is. There are a couple... More

This is a cozy tea room, and the shop master is a cat!! Normally 2 - 3 cats are in the tea room and they are amazingly calm and gentle. You can see and touch and take photo, as much as you want. The shop master and his family are so kind that they don't charge you extra money for... More

Staying in Shinjuku

Neighbourhood Profile
Shinjuku
Shinjuku is the commuting capital of Tokyo, and contains the busiest train station in the world. To the west, there's an office district with the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Office at its center. To the east, there’s a district with long-established department stores, cinemas and theaters. Shinjuku Gyoen is a park originally built as the garden for the Imperial Household. It is quite famous as a venue for cherry-blossom viewing in March and April. In Shinjuku, many restaurants operate all night, and districts such as Omoide Yokocho (Memory Lane) or Shinjuku Golden Machi have back streets filled with tiny restaurants and bars that reflect each owner’s unique taste and style.
