We stopped here for lunch and really enjoyed it . We had a nice view of the street below as we sipped a wonderful cold beer. Food was good too . I loved my pork steak . Good western and Japanese choices.

Wow we checked into our hotel walked around and found the Kirin city bar after a long days travelling back from the the snow. The beer is great and massive froth. Food is bar and snack like with a mixture of western and Japanese ..... nice place to check out while shopping

Well worth taking a breaking, extensive beer menu and diverse dining menu. The size of the dish suited me perfectly for lunch. The beef melted in my mouth. The staff were efficient and menu was available in English.

Happened to walk by Kirin City looking for a place to eat on a Saturday night. Since it was packed, I figured it would be worth trying and I was not disappointed. I heavily recommend the Japanese steak, which is grilled and cut into slices. It comes with a grilled open face onion, Japanese style fries and sauce with authentic... More

Fantastic tap beer. Creamy head with a refreshing body. Clean but a little on the pricey side. I would stop by for a couple before or after dinner.

Had lunch here, which was a set price meal and it was a good meal, good size and tasty. The service was good and the beer tasted great, but a bit pricey.....tried a couple of the different types which was great and it hit the spot at lunch time.....even purchased a glass from the bar.

Pretty expensive drinks by Japan standard, kind of cool experience though with lots of beers and beer cocktails etc. Was quite funny/disturbing to see a rat come running down the stair case, under the table of 2 older Japanese guys and then up the wall onto the pipes in the ceiling and into a hole in the wall. The old... More

Feels like home; friendly staff and a great selection of draft beers. Not very cheap but considering the location I thought it was very affordable. Good bar feel. Can't comment on the food but it seems they offer a nice selection. Good to hang out after a day of work!

This place is sure to please those looking for a local hangout. Its always crowded and you can measure the populace in Tokyo by the crowd that participates in food and fun and this popular pub in Shinjuku. Try it...you'll enjoy the hustle and the bustle and feel like your living in Japan. Ask for Mari and tell her Jerry... More

Staying in Shinjuku

Neighbourhood Profile
Shinjuku
Shinjuku is the commuting capital of Tokyo, and contains the busiest train station in the world. To the west, there's an office district with the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Office at its center. To the east, there’s a district with long-established department stores, cinemas and theaters. Shinjuku Gyoen is a park originally built as the garden for the Imperial Household. It is quite famous as a venue for cherry-blossom viewing in March and April. In Shinjuku, many restaurants operate all night, and districts such as Omoide Yokocho (Memory Lane) or Shinjuku Golden Machi have back streets filled with tiny restaurants and bars that reflect each owner’s unique taste and style.
