Went there because of the reviews, seems like it might be a little overblown. However it was worth the wait outside which was the better part of 45 minutes. Amongst some of the best Ramen that I've had for a fair price. Enjoyable, and easy with the English menu portion. I like the atmosphere of the very small restaurant as... More

We went for lunch at Mutekyia on a Monday at 11.00. The queue was already all the way to the breakpoint to the other sidewalk, and we waited one hour. This gives you a rough estimate of what to expect. The Ramen were delicious, the pork slowly melting in the soup and the eggs were amazing. All in all 1080¥... More

We were not familiar with Mutekiya and saw the long line and concluded the place must be good...The noodles were great and the broth was rich and tasty...After we have eaten , we saw outside the seal of trip advisor posted near the entrance of their store...Indeed lucky to have experienced eating in this place.

This is seriously the tastiest ramen that I've ever had thus far. When we arrived at the restaurant at around 9pm, there was a queue of about 30 people ahead and we thought that it wouldn't take that long but boy were we wrong. Queued for 1.5 hours in the cold and in the end, it was totally worth it.... More

This is known for its ramen and wow is it incredible. When visiting, you will be expected to queue, but it goes quickly and it is most certainly worth the wait. 10/10

I have stayed in Ikebukuro 4 times now and I always make a stop whenever I'm in town. Their ramen definitely lives up to the ratings - from the pork to the egg, the broth to the noodles. That being said, this place is almost always busy and I wouldn't wait more than a few minutes because unlike the Bay... More

It's taken 30 minutes to get the seat. The noodle overall is ok but which is too oil for me or someone who doesn't like a fat. The location of restaurant is ok but don't rely on Google map at all.

Excellent broth. The attendant takes your order before you enter and your order arrives soon after you are seated. Waited only 30 minutes from start of lining up to actually getting the ramen on the table

Staying in Ikebukuro

Neighbourhood Profile
Ikebukuro is an area of massive development. Several thousand tenants occupy two giant department stores and shopping malls, where all sorts of shopping and gourmet foods can be enjoyed. The 60-story building at the east entrance of the station, Sunshine City, is a landmark within Ikebukuro and features an aquarium, planetarium, theme park as well as an observation platform. The popular name for the western side of this area is "Otome Road" (Maiden Road) and there are many shops selling products related to anime with a female theme. It has rapidly become the worldwide headquarters for ‘otaku’ or geek culture.
