Cross Dine is the multi cuisine restaurant in the Hotel Metropolitan, Ikebukoro. This restaurant offer break fast, lunch and dinner - all buffet. Their break fast is really good with an excellent spread of cut fruits, salads, fresh juices, variety of breads and a very good live counter, handled by excellent chefs with many years of experiences. It is a... More

We were there for a Christmas buffet lunch. We go there from time to time, and almost every Christmas, too. Even at normal times, it is nice to have a buffet lunch there with Western, Japanese and Chinese food with soft drinks, but for Christmas, we thought the choice of food was a little better than usual. The buffet opens... More

Great food with decent spread of western and Japanese dishes. Food quality all round is above average and sufficient to keep you interested for a short few days of breakfast. Didn't have lunch nor dinner, so no comments on it but did noticed a long queue for it which I assume must be good.

I chose this restaurant for dinner for me with a friend and his family, 3 adults and 2 children (under 12) all up. The food selection was wide, from oriental to western and a bit of seafood (crab). Desserts were nice (which my friend's family enjoyed very much). The choice of drinks were good enough, not the first class but... More

Since I stayed at Hotel Metropolitan, my friend and I went to their restaurant: Cross Dine for afternoon tea. You don't need reservations but just to drop in for afternoon tea. They have a coffee or tea with a cake deal. Instead of choosing from the written menu they will bring samples of real cakes on a tray, so you... More

We chose the dining room over the more expensive buffet. Staff was not sure what was on pizza, we had soup and a drink which was fine after our long travels.

Breakfast Buffet for $25 is great, considering they charge you $9 for just a cup of coffee otherwise. Other meals and ala carte offerings are expensive. ..

Not the cheapest breakfast option (about $25 usd) but all you can eat buffet with good selection and variety. Inside the metropolitan hotel and very close to train station. Friendly staff, clean, quiet atmosphere. Able to get some work done or prep for business meeting while eating.

Staying in Ikebukuro

Neighbourhood Profile
Ikebukuro is an area of massive development. Several thousand tenants occupy two giant department stores and shopping malls, where all sorts of shopping and gourmet foods can be enjoyed. The 60-story building at the east entrance of the station, Sunshine City, is a landmark within Ikebukuro and features an aquarium, planetarium, theme park as well as an observation platform. The popular name for the western side of this area is "Otome Road" (Maiden Road) and there are many shops selling products related to anime with a female theme. It has rapidly become the worldwide headquarters for ‘otaku’ or geek culture.
