I was wandering around and saw this place. It was packed. But a seat soon came open. I seat down and others were quickly coming and going. In fact a man sat next to me after I sat down and before I could order he had his meal delivered and finished. I was amazed ! My dishes were perfect very... More

Yoshinoya is a kyu-don franchise in japan. Their dishes are yummy, cheap and quick. Remember to have some change when you eat here as some stores may not accept credit cards.

Perfect for a quick bite on the move, good quality food and brilliant value for money, a bit like Yo Sushi but better and not sushi! Most places are like this in Tokyo, very quick but tasty and filling. Stop in as many as you can find, maybe non chain ones as they may be the best food you’ll have!

Yoshinoya in Tokyo is definitely not fast food as we know it in America. The food here is not bad but rather tasty. The food is served on actual ceramic bowl rather than the Styrofoam we get at home. The rice is tender, the soup is tasty and not packed with sodium while the Beef is quite flavorful. The only... More

If your on a budget or uncertain of all that "scary" Japanese food, this is your place to go. There isn't many English menus, but all the menus have pictures, so just point and order. Very cheap food for the sizes you get, and you get your meals super quick. The shop isnt very big, so i wouldn't recommend sitting... More

So, what to do when your in Japan and jet lagged and need breakfast at 4AM? Head to Yoshinoya for a beef bowl. While I would never eat fast food in the US (except for In-n-out) I don't have as much of a problem with it in Japan. It is cheap and filling, if a bit fatty and salty. Go... More

Yoshinoya is a fast food restaurant, but the food standard is pretty high, and the service is lightning fast. A good place to grab something on your way back to the hotel, but not a memorable meal

The Yoshinoya in Asakusa is along our route from the Tsukuba express station to Sakura Asakusa Hotel so we had a late dinner and loved it so much that we also had breakfast there the following morning.

Most probably skipped by visitors knowing its a fastfood joint, but one will be surprised that the quality of food served is as good as the one you may get in a an omise or isakaya in the off-tourist areas in Tokyo. A must visit , just to see the difference of the Yoshinoya in Japan and the one you... More

Staying in Ueno, Asakusa

Neighbourhood Profile
Ueno, Asakusa
Traces of the history and culture of the Edo (old Tokyo) era remain vividly in Ueno and Asakusa. Spacious Ueno Park is a great place to relax and visit a variety of different museums and galleries. At Ameyoko which starts in front of Ueno station, the grocery stores and clothing shops are crammed alongside fishmongers. It gets particularly busy at the end of the year, when many people go on shopping sprees. The town of Asakusa, developed around Sensoji temple, has many shops selling goods and clothing from old Japan, making it a great place for souvenir hunting. It's also known for various annual festivals, and the whole district gets involved with the huge Sanja Festival in May.
