This was our first breakfast in Tokyo, and we didn't know what to expect, but it was delicious! We order the Gyudon(beef bowl and rice) and the miso soup. Its a simple dish, but that's where the richness lies. I put on top of the bowl, ginger and a little bit of the red spice. Very cheap also! We went to the... More

Very good budget meal and this place is everywhere in japan It's open 24 hrs Tried the beef rice and it taste good although it was not really hot... Could improve on the temperature of the food but fast food restaurants usually are all premade.. But good quality for the price

knowing that almost everything in Japan is expensive, especially the food, Yoshinoya regardless of where it is on Japan is reliably affordable. great tasting meal selections, the portions are good enough to be full with in relation to its price. the menus are pretty simple to understand. like every other shops or establishments, they're not good in speaking and understanding... Can't explain why, but this was my favourite place to eat in japan. Such a simple dish - beef bowl , stripes of beef on rice - but they are doing it so well...and the best is free thin red stripes of ginger. A new item is the chicked bowl - with clean pure pieces of chicken, and not even... More

Been eating in their franchise outside Japan, now I finally able to try their original. No frills just comfort food here. The menu list shows just below 10 items. I tried their salmon set, come with rice bowl, miso soup, salad and cost me around JPY 800. Not bad at all. Quite tasty and could be dependable if you are... More

I love Yoshinoya for quite some time, but I must say that ones in Japan is definitely more delicious than those in Singapore, Hongkong or Jakarta. The new menu like curry & grilled pork is excellent for me. Furthermore, it's everywhere and open 24 hours.

Yoshinoya is a chain all over Japan that sells a variety of beef dishes. They are fast, consistent and cheap. We go to Yoshinoya when we need lunch on the run or when we're too tired or grumpy to go restaurant exploring. This particular location was our first try, but since then we have tried locations all over Japan.

Staying in Ueno, Asakusa

Neighbourhood Profile
Ueno, Asakusa
Traces of the history and culture of the Edo (old Tokyo) era remain vividly in Ueno and Asakusa. Spacious Ueno Park is a great place to relax and visit a variety of different museums and galleries. At Ameyoko which starts in front of Ueno station, the grocery stores and clothing shops are crammed alongside fishmongers. It gets particularly busy at the end of the year, when many people go on shopping sprees. The town of Asakusa, developed around Sensoji temple, has many shops selling goods and clothing from old Japan, making it a great place for souvenir hunting. It's also known for various annual festivals, and the whole district gets involved with the huge Sanja Festival in May.
