Juiciest and crispiest menchi katsu I've had. And for a very affordable price as well. If you are ever in Asakusa, be sure to pick on up!

This fried menchi is soooo good. All the menchi they offered is just cooked, so they taste just so good. However, the problem is ppl in Japan can not eat and walk at the same time, so u may have to find a nice spot...More

I've been to Sensoji and Nakamisedori before but it was only before my last trip that I read about Asakusa Menchi on the internet. I knew I had to go back and try it on my latest trip to Tokyo. There was a line in...More

This is only a shop, not a restaurant, with some benches to sit on and also an automatic drink seller. These fried meatballs were very good and cheap, not to miss for a break!

Read good things about it in a guide book and decided to locate and give it a go. A very small shop on a road just to the left of the entrance to the temple itself after the souvenir shops. You would really have to...More

Me and my friend were wandering around Asakusa area and found this place when we wanted a snack. These are fried, breaded ground meat cakes. I was surprised at how nice they are, really juicy and flavourful. I guess I've only had the kind you...More

Like a pork hamburger with vegetables in it, but tastier. A bit oily, but I guess it's why it's tasty ;-) Many reviewers mentioned long lines. I got none around 4:45pm on a Saturday. But I saw some lines later.

When you are Asakusa Tanuki Street you simply must stop and buy a croquette at Asakusa Menchi. Because of the demand for them they are always hot and fresh. Simply put though it is the best croquette that I have tasted and my wife agrees!

The only reason I didn't put the last star in is its queuing time. Every time I visited this small shop off the main food street near Asakusa Temple, I needed to stay in line for at least 5 minutes. But the menchis worth it....More

Near Asakusa's street market, it is a great option for a quick meal during your stroll over Asakusa. I hardly recommend at least 2 menchis and a beer. Perfect combo. Not expensive, but a little wait time will be required.

Ueno, Asakusa
Traces of the history and culture of the Edo (old
Tokyo) era remain vividly in Ueno and Asakusa.
Spacious Ueno Park is a great place to relax and visit
a variety of different museums and galleries. At
Ameyoko which starts in front of Ueno station, the
grocery stores and clothing shops are crammed
alongside fishmongers. It gets particularly busy at
the end of the year, when many people go on shopping
