The Inn is on the popular Pennine Way route and welcomes walkers with a drying room and other facilities. We are also on the Hadrians Cycleway (Route 72) and near the Sandstone Way cycle route. Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We liked the pub so much we went twice! We took our American relatives there when visiting Hadrian's Wall. Our guests were glutton and dairy-free. No problem, Tracey and Christine led them through the menu. The staff were extremely knowledgeable and we all felt completely...confident about eating lunch safely. By the way, the food and service was very good. Deserves the 5 stars.More

From check in to leaving they could not have been more helpful. After a long day's walk they carried our bags up to the room - which may not seem much but was the best thing ever to us. There was a huge selection of...drinks and food all reasonably prices. The beers tasted great and the homemade pie was piping hit and delicious.More

Absolutely fantastic place right bang in the country side within minutes from Hadrian wall. Very clean restaurant and the bar staff are great id like a special mention to the new lass I'm show I heard a member of staff call her Emma. The smiles...and the top service was incredible and we asked her how long you worked her and she said a few days. She's amazing and friendly hopefully she's still here when we return in the summer.More

Absolutel breath of fresh air, no hassle about intolerances/ allergies which took the guesswork out of lunch. The staff couldn't have been more helpful, with special thanks to Meg, Tracey and Christine. Thank you all, just wish we lived up this way!

There’s a very good reason The Twice Brewed Inn serves a lot of steak and ale pies. I tried one the other day. Superb! And the vegetables served with the pie were perfectly done, including carrots that looked and tasted fresh from the garden. A...visit to Hadrian’s Wall wouldn’t have been complete without a rest stop and meal at this great pub.More

Dropped in for lunch after a mornings visit to Housteads Roman Fort, 3 miles up the road- well worth a visit too. Lovely warm welcome on our arrival- with our large dog- and staff were very helpful in giving us a table where he could...quietly crash out underneath for his afternoon nap! The pub was quite busy and had a lovely atmosphere with lots of attentive staff ready to take food or drink orders and clearing tables quickly. We had sandwiches and fries but the main meals looked very good too, with a wide variety of dishes to choose from. There is a large outdoor area at the rear, with seating and cabins, and a garden area leading down to a steam with walks off in several directions. Really popular with families and dog owners alike. Good value, very welcoming and well worth a visit. Highly recommended.More

Looking for somewhere dog friendly for lunch. Couldn’t have been more please with the reception we got for the dog and ourselves. Staff were very friendly and good wholesome food. Great for walkers on Hadrians Wall and visitors to The Sill.

Visited for lunch and we were the first ones in the pub. Staff were getting organised, so we sat beside the roaring log burner and warmed ourselves up. A very friendly member of staff brought some drinks to the table and said she would take...our meal order when we were ready. All the other staff who came on duty also greeted us. We were made to feel most welcome. The room was well decorated and comfortable. We ordered sandwiches which arrived with a tasty side salad and crisps. Food was delicious and obviously freshly made. Prices are very reasonable and we left feeling that we had received a lovely Twice Brewed Inn experience. There is a shop next door selling ales etc so we did some purchasing from another friendly member of the team. Looking forward to returning again soon.More

Fantastic pub.. booked for Sunday lunch for 26 people and 4 dogs. The food was excellent and the service was superb, especially Meg who did a fantastic job of looking after us and getting the drinks and food on the table to all so quickly....The rest of Megs team were also extremely helpful. Will definitely return it back in the area, but would certainly recommend this pub for all reasons, nothing was too much trouble. Thank you.More

Stopped in for lunch before heading to the Roman museum. 2 adults, 5yr old, 1 yr old and a pug. Fantastic food and great local ales line up. I had the sycamore gap pale ale- gorgeous beer. Staff were super friendly, very welcoming and pub...had a lovely atmosphere. £15-£20 for a main meal. Kids also enjoyed exploring the stream in the beer garden and finding the toman solider. Will be back!! Thanks!More
