Met friends here for lunch on recommendation but I was a little disappointed.... The food was just ok, typical pub food, nothing out of the ordinary. I found it expensive - fish and chips £12.25 and desserts £6.25. One of the servers was friendly but the other not so much; service was also very slow. All in all, there are... More

Stopped here for a drink and lunch with family. Fish pie excellent and good squid in breadcrumbs. Excellent beers. Pleasant service.

Spent 3 work days. Very good ambiance and people. Breakfast really English and very good. I suggest poached eggs with brown bread. Dinner is a surprise. Whatever you choose is very good. To try fish and chips. Room clean old style but characteristics. To be come back.

great atmosphere, staff amazing but prices too high for what they serve. its a great pub really but the vegetable soup was 7 quid with a bog standard baguette - they could jazz it up for that price...

Went with friends on Friday night. Had a starter and main which were both very good. Camembert to start was small but lovely and the brisket burger was delicious.

We meet our friends half way at different pubs which if we like we return to. As we had not visited for some while we decided to eat here. The staff were friendly and we like the interior. There are different sections so when busy is not generally so noisy. We all enjoyed our meals and the coffee was excellent.... More

This Bar and Restaurant is half way between our home and that of my daughter, so is an ideal meeting place for lunch. We had an excellent meal, with high quality food at a reasonable cost. My daughter is a vegetarian and had a good choice - a rarity! My husband enjoyed his fish and chips and my daughter her... More

Being a midway point we meet here every year to exchange Christmas presents and have a pre Christmas get together. We have never been disappointed with the food served and our meals yesterday were as good as ever, tasty, well presented and good portions. Service was brilliant, the young girl waiting our table was particularly good. I didn't notice any... More

We came here from a local village nearby. Huge car park and very easy to find on the busy A4 road from hungerford to Marlborough. We were warmly welcomed and shown to our table. The place was very quiet with only 3/4 other tables and the the atmosphere hits you as soon as you enter, which is a shame, it's... More
