Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Only Pub in Banstead High Street and long may it continue. Had Sunday Roast. Decent portions and never had any issue with service or quality.

My partner and I met the in-laws here for a midweek meal. We all had 3 courses and all dishes were good or better with the exception of one haddock and chips being a tad doughy. The portion sizes were great and the service was...top notch. Overall, a pleasant experience but not the cheapest menu!More

Having eaten at the Wallpack numerous times, I was extremely surprised and disappointed to find that my meal (Haddock and chips) came ready salted, which was not mentioned on the menu. Our server did ask if there were any allergies or dietary requirements at the...time of ordering my meal, I find it extremely bewildering that in this day and age you find it necessary to add salt over my fish and chips without mentioning to customers that this your establishments procedure. As salt/ seasonings were not mentioned on the menu I felt it was not a necessity to mention at that time, however I did return the meal asking for the salt (which was liberally sprinkled over the entire fish) to be removed as I am unable to process salt, only to find that the chip were also coated in salt which meant that I left the meal, but pointed out to our server when she cleared our plates my disappointment. In conclusion, might I ask that on the menu you mentioned the fact that these meals have salt sprinkled over them so as not to receive any further reviews like this. I would also add that the other five guests at the table receive their drinks, but I had to ask three times for my drink (no ice) which only came with my main course (plus ice). I do not like or enjoy leaving reviews like this, but I do think it was necessary.More

13 friends met for an early festive Sunday lunch, having pre-booked a table. We had various main courses including different roasts, salad bowls and burgers. All our meals were delicious and the kitchen managed to get them out in quick succession. Desserts followed, again quite...an assortment but efficiently managed by staff. Our thanks go to Maddy and Benny for their ability to cope well with all our various requests and for getting extra cutlery when needed. They were unfailingly helpful, hardworking and courteous. Thanks too to the Manager Neil, he is clearly running the Woolpack well. We all enjoyed our meals and time together.More

This used to be a very well managed establishment but over recent months has become an blight on the local community. Friday and Saturday nights are now almost a no go as the pub is filled with all sorts of undesirables. The toilets are literally...a drug den and there are now constant fights inside and outside the pub. The food is terribly overpriced for what amounts to sub par cooking and the beer is never in good condition. To cap it all off we've seen rats running around! My friends and I used to love coming in but now stay well clear. What happened Woolpack you used to be so well managed?More

We are disappointed in the fact they have removed the fish soup and salmon from the menu as it was the absolute best. We have tried the alternatives but sadly there is no comparison, so for this reason we won’t be rushing back

Shocking family friendly service. Our kids behaving sitting quietly watching films but had to be out at 7pm even though was told if eating can stay till 9pm. Kids eating pudding and told we had to leave, they couldnt finish pudding as was to worried...that they had to leave. Ruined the whole time of us being there, wasted money buying dinner. Don't think I will return, would rather pay a uber and go somewhere that is more welcoming, which is a shame as not far from where we live.More

Saturday night out for a family meal. This was our first visit to The Woolpack & was a mixed one. The pub itself is good with a great selection of beers, great atmosphere & polite staff. But here’s the but, what lets this pub down...is the meals. Ready seasoned chips, small portions & overcooked food. I had the sirloin steak which cost £24, sadly not worth the money. The steak was over cooked, fatty & very small. With just a little attention to the meals & this pub would be perfect.More
