Awful, stay at large Food is disgusting and service is consistent The only nice thing is that it is in front of the beach. Better take a slice of pizza and eat in the beach

Wish I had looked on here before having dinner at La Vela this evening. Very poor food quality. We ordered four plates, all of them were bad! OK for a drink as location is great but otherwise best off eating elsewhere.

We were attracted on a rain sodden weekday evening in May by the flame burners in the outside covered area. Ok we were warm and dry but that's pretty much the end of the positives. We ordered a paella to share which was frankly pretty dire. I've eaten many paella at home and abroad and this has to be the... More

DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY in this dreadful restaurant. Our meal was totally a disaster.Basic salad was tasteless.Mussels were warmed up and not fresh.Sauce awful.Bread mouldy. A row ensued with another customer over being charged for shocking food! The only very bad experience on a delightful holiday!!!!!

So much potential but so disappointing. No visit to the Costa Brava is complete without sampling some local paella. However this is NOT the place to do it. hardly any seafood and way too much dark sauce. I think it was just Soya. UGHHH. I ordered the sea bass as the fish of the day and it was undercooked and... Probably the best location you could imagine.Yards from the sandy beach, waves lapping gently in your ears, sun shining and we've got the best table in the house(well, actually just outside the house) and looking forward to a family lunch. The food that did sporadically appear at our table was, surprisingly, not too bad.But oh, the service!I have never seen the like of it,and... More

We sat down as a family of seven and the service went from bad to worse. We waited an age for our drinks and even longer for our food. It wasn't busy and at no point did we even get half an apology for the wait. The food was also below average.

This was our final evening out in Calella , a fantastic little town on the Costa Brava .Our meal was on the waterfront with a fantastic view of the moon light on the sea in this harbour side restaurant. Sadly the food was only average whilst prices were high average. My wife had pork which was not served as advertised... More

Despite the good situation of the premises, the quality of the food has a lot to be desired. They offer Iberian ham with catalan bread "coca" with tomato. Well not "coca", albeit frozen bread, has the least, neither the ham it can't be considered suitable for a la cartè restaurant. They also offer foie with figs. The figs were cold... More
