Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Visited whilst on holiday for last three years. Always excellent food and service. There is a wide range of good quality food available and it’s right by the beach with lovely views.

After a long walk from Whitby we were ready for a coffee and cake. The café is very friendly and also welcomes dogs. The disappointment was the carrot cake, I've had better

I'm not one for leaving reviews but after visiting this place at the weekend then reading some negative reviews on here I felt compelled to do so. Not sure why such negative reviews as we popped in for quick snacks mid Sat afternoon and enjoyed...a glass of Merlot with some sublime Carrot cake as well as a coffee whilst sat by the windows looking out towards the sea watching the world go by very enjoyable. As we enjoyed it we went back on the Sun morn for breakfast butties which were very tasty and also catered for dietary requirements. I need to point out on both visits staff were polite and service quick. Prices were very fair too. Both days there was a constant stream of customers so it can't be that bad can it, Will be back for sure.More

We tried only the coffee, drank very little of it so unfair to give just one star therefore the other star is for the view which is what will carry this cafe through to another year.

We come to this part of the Yorkshire Coast on a regular basis, and almost always come here for something to eat. They have a great choice of food and loads of gorgeous cakes on offer. What we most like is being able to eat...outside under cover. My wife just had beans on toast today, but I had the seafood special which was excellent. Plus, they do a great Mocha.More

We needed coffee and a snack after a walk so stopped here. The first thing that hits you is the great views across the sea, particularly from the outdoor area, where dogs are allowed. The menu covers most snacky things, including some gluten free cakes....The coffee was decent and my orange and cranberry scone was delicious.More
