After spending the morning out and about in Whitby with the dogs, we decided to go for a 'Chippy dinner'. This place was recommended on Google so we had a drive up to Sandsend, intending to park up, buy our food then return to the...car to eat it, what a pleasant surprise to find a lovely outdoor eating area that was full of families and couples with dogs, the sun was out so we decided to stay and eat them there, the food was delicious, a little expensive but for the location and quality we don't mind paying a little more. Staff were very friendly and food was well cooked and freshly made while we waited. Sandsend is a lovely little seaside village so if your in the area and wanting Fish and Chips give this place a try, bring your dogs too they are just as welcome!.More

We have had takeaway from here before but this time we booked a table in the restaurant. The restaurant experience was excellent. The varied fish courses we had were well cooked and tasty. The service was very attentive and pleasant. I would recommend using the...restaurant if you can.More

Visited recently after recommended by friends. I am an avid Scampi eater and over the years have eaten rather a lot! The Scampi here has got to be the best ever! Gold Medal 🥇 Decent portion cooked to perfection. Extremely tasty served with decent portion...of chips and garden peas. Cannot fault the food in any way. The staff were super friendly and the restaurant quirky. A great visit and we will be back very soon.More

The scampi was probably the best I’ve ever eaten. Nice quiet location, friendly staff, delicious food and a lovely garden area make this a must visit.

I have been coming to this lovely place since it opened and it goes from strength to strength. The food was amazing in Saturday 30 March 2024. ! It’s a very unpretentious place and serves great food and wine in a relaxed atmosphere. The prawns,...fish pie and rhubarb tart were all delectable and I love the fact you get decent wine by the glass. You could practically taste the sea the mackerel was so fresh. Service was excellent.More

This must rate as one (if not the best) of the best seafood restaurants in the area. Modern, bright, welcoming, catering for casual visitors and a take out / eat outside option, else formal dining inside. Imaginative menu choices, such as seafood or meat or...vegetarian tacos, stunning lists of fresh fish, cooked to order, and good old fashioned fish and chips (but with finesse). Hot, tasty, great value for money. Child and dog friendly. A quality wine list. Very friendly and efficient staff ... what more could you ask for? We visited twice on consecutive afternoons, with no prior booking, and were seated quickly, given it was the first week of Easter holidays and Whitby and Sandsend were rapidly filling. Two superb meals on each day (day one fish pie, and for me - freshly cooked Mackerel on the bone - sweet and succulent; Day 2, seafood tacos for my wife, Cod and chips for me with proper mushy peas, but light batter and big chunky flakes of white fish). We can't think of one complaint - oh - and there's free parking too!More

I stopped here for take out --fish and chips--every two weeks, for 5 months straight. On alternate weeks, I went to the takeout at the Magpie (in Whitby proper) on a regular basis. Hate to say that they are equally good and I also couldn't...ever tell the difference between the cod and the haddock. Had to keep a bottle of catsup in my car (it was winter) as neither place offered packets for my chips. Never made it to the interior restaurant but the menu looks great.More

Having driven 70 odd mile so the dog can have a great time on the beach and in the sea the one thing we all ( dog included) look forward to afterwards are the delicious haddock and chips from here. The portions are huge and...always delicious; you really can tell what fresh fish tastes like. We love it here !More

Fish was ok but the chips looked like they came out of a freezer and were clearly warm ups and not very nice. This place is massively overpriced too. Avoid and go into Whitby

Even better than our last visit two and a half years ago. We shared 6 tacos between us - fish, king prawn and beef. Delicious - especially the beef! - and full of fresh ingredients, salad and full of heat and flavour. Great friendly service...and the restaurant has a lovely vibe. Definitely a must do for anyone visiting or in the area!More

Went for a meal here yesterday, the food and service were first class. The price was probably a little on the expensive side, but on reflection about worth it for the quality of the food.
