Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

A lovely local cafe, friendly and welcoming plus dog friendly. Small but very well done menu all made to order, sandwiches toasties and mains. Nice tea and coffee selection with scones and other tasty treats. Vegan and diary free available. If in the area again...definitely coming back and will 'push Liz' s buttons 'More

We were planning coffee and scones as a wee treat -but chose 2 mains from the Specials board-we both thoroughly enjoyed our delicious freshly-prepared dishes. The staff were very attentive and friendly-they obviously enjoy working in the cosy wee cafe! We then chose 2 mouth-watering...cakes as take-aways as our main dishes left us fully satisfied. Thank you Portsoy Coffee Shop for the tasty treats and a lovely lunch!More

Stopped in past today for soup and a scone, both of which were delicious! The Cullen skink was full of fish, accompanied by lovely fresh bread. Staff extremely friendly and helpful, which definitely does not go unnoticed when dining with a toddler. Will be back...again very soon!More

We waited 15 mins before the food arrived even though there were no other couples waiting. When I reminded the young lady we had waited a while she wasn’t too pleased - no apology offered. The Cullen skink was quite good but let down by...a cheap piece of white sliced bread which was stale. The toasty was more than adequate but very little mayo. Wouldn’t return. Was expecting great things but a disappointing visit.More

We are disappointed to learn that from your point of view, you felt your overall lunch experience at Portsoy Coffee Shop was not to the standard of 'expecting great things'. The quality of food served in our wee Bistro, and the standard of customer service...More

Popped in for a bit of breakfast but it was such a lovely day we decided to order takeaway & eat it down by the sea I had the bacon roll. Loads of bacon in a lovely soft bap Grandson had a couple of sausages...& some chips. Not a normal breakfast but he was with Granny & Granda……. And my hubby had the full breakfast. Generous portions of everything & he mentioned (a couple of times) about the quality of the sausages 😍 Whilst waiting for our order (20 minutes & everything was cooked to order) we went to Loch Soy to feed the ducks, seed bought from the local co op Great start to the weekend. Great food, lovely service & couldn’t fault it all Will definitely be back! Thank you!More

Ordered 4 take away meals from Portsoy coffee shop. The food was of a very high standard and tasted delicious. Portion size was very good. We phoned in our order in the morning and collected our order at the arranged time. The member of staff...was very friendly. The only downside was we were not given a bag to carry the food which made it awkward to carry home.More

Great coffee. Baking looked good too but we just had coffee and it was lovely. Friendly service. There’s not much more to be said but I can’t post this review until I’ve written more words.

This little coffee shop is a hidden gem and earns all 5 stars. We visited on a wet and windy day, the waitress managed to squeeze us in. I cannot emphasise enough how nice the staff were to us, they accommodated our needs food wise...and chef cooks and prepared all the food individually for each customer. There are only a few tables, so on a busy day you might have to wait, but it’s well worth it. Our food was delicious, the drinks are lovely. And I can’t wait to return! Thank you! XxMore

We visited this wee bistro a while back and the Cullen Skink was amazing . Popped in again on a cold, wet Saturday lunchtime. The wee bistro was really busy but we managed to find a table and the lovely friendly service was just as...we remembered it to be. The Cullen Skink is simply amazing and served with fresh local bread and butter or oatcakes . A hearty portion meant we had no room for the home bakes ( which looked soo tasty ) - or the home made clootie dumpling or sticky toffee pudding - but we will definitely be back to sample it on our next day trip through that way !! Well worth a visit - the Cullen Skink and friendly service is second to none !!More

Our first visit here. Found just off the main through road of Portsoy (near to and the opposite side of the Co-Op store). Not a lot of parking down the narrow street where the cafe's located. A small cafe, with about 6 tables. Nice, quaint...and cosy. Friendly, attentive staff. My lentil, bacon and vegetable soup was grand (under £4), as was my hot chocolate (£2.90). I found the place a wee gem!More

Very good coffee in a small coffee shop with only 4 tables but very homely atmosphere. Friendly service and lots of maps and timetables available to peruse whilst relaxing.
