Still one of the very best in Bedfordshire. Lunchtime menu very good and Darren is excellent manager. Been going back for many years now and likely to continue.

Very tasty food, friendly staff and lovely atmosphere. The red Malbec house wine is gorgeous! I also recommend the lamb shank

Used to love the place but our most recent visit was a litany of poor service and food. Wrong dishes brought out, surly, borderline rude wait staff, and food allergies ignored. The pork was tough, the triple cooked chips must have included a microwave in their lifecycle as there was no crunch to them at all and the beetroot and... More

Went here for a glass of wine at lunch time, it was over priced and served in a dirty glass! The barman changed the glass in front of me by pouring the wine from one glass into another. At least do it where not watching! A slight bit rude and pretentious. I will not be back in a hurry! Sorry.... More

I love this place. Tucked away in the local countryside is this absolute gem. Beautiful decor and ambience inside. Attentive service. Excellent food and wine. It has to be said the potted prawns did not give me the normal Wow - but their accompanying lemon curd, steak for main and blackberry creme brûlée certainly did! In fact, the creme brûlée... More

First time at Black Horse and we have just realised what we have been missing. Went for family birthday lunch. Nice touches like birthday card on the table. Great choice from the menu, including gluten free food and beer options.

We visited when we had family staying with us and going to The Black Horse was an easy decision. We had eaten there as a couple and the food was always first class as was the service. This visit was disappointing. Food was bland with far to much focus on 'presentation' rather than taste, with one meal not cooked in... More

The service has always been excellent and the food outstanding, we have regularly taken friends even Irish ones who were surprised to be visiting Ireland in Bedfordshire. A very good wine list gives a good scope for food matching and reasonable prices.

Popped in for a quick lunch at the Black Horse. Huge succulent fish (couldn't manage the chips!) followed a great sharing platter which was almost enough to not require a main course! Friendly service as always. Sensible prices too.

went here for xmas eve lunch last year and i have to say what an amazing place this was. the food was fantastic but what also made this place leaps ahead of anyone else in the area was its decor. It was warm, cosy but modern at the same time definitely a place to visit again

Thank Steven E

The Black Horse is a family owned Inn with character and style set in a small hamlet in Bedfordshire. The Black Horse was built in the 17th Century, and although it has been updated and given a contempory style, it still holds its charm and character. With it's exposed original beams, inglenook fireplace and low ceilings, the bar is warm and welcoming - perfect for relaxing with a drink or a glass of wine. The restaurant consists of two distinct dining areas each offering their own unique style and atmosphere with either garden or courtyard outlooks. Our seasonally changed menu's use only the freshest ingredients sourced locally (where possible). The dishes are expertly prepared and presented by a team of highly qualified chef's.
