Visited here with a party of 10 during a visit to Duxford. We were greeted by a friendly host who quickly got us seated and ordered drinks. The food was excellent and everyone in our party had full and happy bellys. Nothing was too much...when it came to ordering our food, even with a few picky eaters. All staff were welcoming and friendly. We look forward to visiting again on our next visit to Duxford in April 2022.More

Following a round of golf in Barkway, I popped with a friend into The Plough, Duxford. Initially all fine as a young man served us. I chose a local Ale and sat outside in pleasant surroundings. When I sipped my beer, it was very sour...and cloudy. I felt it had gone off and went to the bar seeking a replacement. I chose another light ale and to my horror, was asked to pay for this new beer. Payment was not the real issue, rather the principal.Customers need to always be listened to as the lifeline of pub and indeed any Retail business. I then spoke with the landlord who was dismissive and would not seek to understand my feelings, I was deeply hurt and shocked. I had not experienced such behaviour towards customers in 40 years of pub visits. Remembering how delicate and volatile trading is in the Hospitality industry I was astounded how a local village pub could treat their customers so poorly. Regrettably I will now share this poor experience with my extensive network. FrankMore

The curry on Friday night was fantastic. Better tasting and better value than any take away or restaurant around Duxford. Lots of tender meat and flavour in both the Beef madras and the Chicken balti.

We met a friend in this pub, hoping for a tasty lunch while we caught up on our news. The food was dreadful - possibly the worst meal we’ve had in years. My husband and friend had the sausages, which came in a soup bowl...swimming in gravy. The sausages were soggy and tasteless, with a flaccid and limp skin that my friend choked on. She said they were the most horrible sausages she’d ever had, and thought they’d been boiled first they were so flavourless and pappy. I had fish and chips - the fish was ok, although there was uncooked batter stuck to it, but the chips oozed grease at the slightest pressure of my fork. Truly awful. The website says the pub offers an eclectic menu of home-cooked food. Not sure the author knows the meaning of the word “eclectic” because there was just boring, standard pub fare on offer. As for home cooking, I’d be horrified if I produced food as awful as this.More

We celebrated my Father's 94th Birthday with a Xmas lunch at the Plough yesterday. The food and service were excellent (as usual for the Plough!). Many thanks to Tracey and Mario for providing the surprise birthday cake!

I just had one of my worst experiences at all. Burgers for 12£ served only with bun and 8oz meat - no any lettuce, tomato - (vegetarian burger was horrible as well). Much better burgers you can get in McDonald's for 1,5£. My other friend...ordered catch of the day (for 12£), and he get just like 2 bites of cod the rest only oily skin. After our complaint the answer of manager was "Sorry that's just how is it. Do you want some ice cream instead?". And about the gravy sauce?!? Watery mix of something...definitely not any kind of gravy sauce. Also we tried vegetarian pie - very hard, my friend couldn't even cut in to it + missing season side. Just horrible experience, we're not gonna come back!!More

Have you ever had watery gravy? I had and was told I only came in to complain lol! Burgers plain, no sauces, lettuce or tomato no side salad(all meant to come with it), overpriced for an average food). Manager arrogant. All of us being hungry,...we’d eat anything at this point, but this food was just awful, I felt sick. Avoid!!!More

Obviously short staffed and very busy. Also probably means if they’re are that busy the service will be poor, so I myself would find another venue.
