Visited recently with a family member who has a slightly more unique allergy (onion and garlic) and the staff were very attentive and assuring us that everything was prepared separately and in a sanitary environment. As a family, we always judge a place by their ability to make adaptments for allergies and the Ten Tor’s did not disappoint. We all really enjoyed our meals. It would have been nice to have had more vegetarian options, but I also understand that a lot of restaurants have had to reduce menu size at this time. Was also very impressed with their cleaning and with their covid-19 adaptments. Would definitely recommend and attend again.

We take allergies very seriously and realise that any complacency in this area can be catastrophic, so I’m pleased that you felt comfortable and confident in the Teams ability to deal with this.
Apologies, but you are correct when you say that our menu is reduced. We have had to reduce it for now, but are hoping to increase the vegetarian options very soon.

First time visit to The Ten Tors and we will return. The owners and staff have got it right. Courteous, efficient staff who welcomed us to the pub, took us to out table, took our drinks order and were unobtrusively attentive during our visit. The carvery was set out which looked delicious, which we opted for and were not dissappointed. Three choices of meat and numerous choices of well cooked veg. On settling our bill the owner came over to ask if we had enjoyed our meal etc and we were happy to tell him how pleased we were with the quality of the food and service provided by the staff. Recommended.

A huge thank you to Luke and the amazing team. We couldn't have asked for more, amazing service, really tasty food, a fab atmosphere, really made our party go with a bang. Luke catered for our lactose intolerant colleagues without fuss, offering tasty alternatives. My team have asked for us to book again for next year so we look forward to the next one. Thanks again and a vary Happy New Year.

Went to the ten tor’s this evening for a birthday celebration, I asked for a carvery. The beef was running with blood, and the chef said I can grill it for you, because we have only got beef and turkey, and the only other meat I can eat is chicken, of which they had not got. When the beef came back out, it was still very red. So all I had to eat was two spoonfuls of mash, and four roasted potatoes. And this cost me £9.50, the girl on the till said was everything o.k, I said no and explained all that I had to eat. She could only reply I will let them know, what a load of rubbish. I told her the onion gravy was also disgusting, but she was not bothered. So I will not be going there again, I think the management should of given me a full refund.

Thank you for your feedback, however, if the beef was not cooked to your liking I am sorry but this is a personal choice, please remember you can ask for any of the joints on offer to be cooked more or less as there is always another one ready. You won't find chicken on a carvery anywhere, but it is on the A' la carte menu and you could have ordered it if required.
Please return when you are next in the area and we will serve your meat as you like it!

From the moment you walk in you know your going to get quality service and food.
The atmosphere always sets the tone and this establishment has plenty. It's relaxed and efficiently run by all the staff. You're greeted with a warm fresh smile and shown to a table within minutes then left to settle. The staff are so well tuned to their customers that they are back to you just when you're ready. They don't just leave you flailing around trying to get someone's attention as we've experienced in other places. We like the layout as each tabled area feels like you're own dining area as your not crammed in and can have some privacy.
Once you've decided on the food it's with you when you're ready thus enhancing that relaxed feeling.
The food looks and tastes fresh, always hot and plenty of it. You won't be paying the earth for it either. This is a firm favorite of our after many years and has never disappointed. Enjoy.

We enjoyed a really nice carvery here. Everything you could want! The COVID measures are really good here, you are provided with some gloves and then you wait until you are called up to the carvery where you use your gloves to pick up the handles to dish out your food. It’s also compulsory to wear your mask while at the carvery.

Me and my partner visited the pub yesterday and were warmly welcomed as soon as we stepped foot in the pub. The waiter/waitresses were extremely helpful and catered to my partners gluten allergy. So much to choose from and even a gluten free menu! Will definitely be visiting again soon.

Food was lovely and the restaurant had a great atmosphere however, the manager was talking to the waitresses very loudly about the jobs he was allocating them and it kept interrupting our conversation.
I was charged £9 for an Aperol Spritz which seems like a lot! We weren’t given a drinks menu so it was a shock when we got the bill. I don’t think £9 for a drink is reasonable when meals averaged at £10!

We're glad that you enjoyed your food and the atmosphere, but disappointed that you felt interrupted. It's not something that we go out of our way to do, but the team do need to be given instruction from time to time.
You won't get much change out of £10 for an Aperol Spritz anywhere that you go. Expensive tastes command a higher price I'm afraid, but it's always best to ask before ordering.

Given the excellent reviews we booked a table to take our 2 teenage grandsons here for lunch today. We were surprised at the fact that although there were obviously 2m distance foot prints on the floor we could not really see any other Covid safety features present or no information on ordering etc was given, no obvious hand sanitizer, no face masks or shields being worn or screens at the bar altho tables were a 2m distance apart.
There was only 1 couple at the bar being served and I stood at a distance in front of the bar for approx 10 mins and in that time 5 members of staff walked past me inside the bar area, altho no one acknowledged I was waiting. I later learned there was a system problem - if only someone had communicated that!!
I was told to wait at our table and someone would come to take our order, however my husband after sometime went to the bar to obtain drinks, where the barmaid was advised ‘no ice’ but she obviously wasn’t listening!
When we went to order food which incidentally was fine the young lady again seem to be distracted whilst taking the order. She then gave us the cutlery but on returning to our table which was outside we had only been given 3 sets!!
During the meal no one came to check all was ok or to ask if we required anything further.
Perhaps the fact there was a system problem effected the level of service that would normally be provided.

We are adjusting to the tremendous challenges of this pandemic and we are continually congratulated by the vast majority who return time and again such is the overwhelming popularity of The Ten Tors which is renowned for its quality food and service. However of course there was always going to be a transition period and we thank all those wonderfully loyal people who have supported us throughout.
Please be patient and understanding and I'm sure you will enjoy the service and quality that The Ten Tors is renowned for.

Visited here over night, manager seemed very arrogant bossing about young girls.
Ordered a gin and lemonade, was awful forgot my lemonade so had to send it back, good job my daughter stuck to a plain glass of water, partner ordered a cider and was given the wrong cider.
Fast forward to food, partner and mine carvery was delicious, however my daughter ordered the Mexican chicken. Not enough chicken for £12.95!, first a young girl approached her with a burger and chips and the girl said it’ll be 5 minutes, me and my partner had already ate the carvery, daughters food arrived and chips were cold and tasted of oil.
Great end to a holiday and cost £50, would much rather I’d preferred a pizza and chips at a kebab shop

I’m slightly puzzled, as you can see from our amazing reviews, we only have positive feedback on our Duty managers and I’m not sure how they would have come across in this way.
As I’m sure you will understand, with staff shortages across the hospitality sector, we are having to train new staff on the job, and to ensure the highest standard of service, at times staff do need direction, however they are only ever asked to do something and never told.

Can’t recommend highly enough.
Superb Sunday Carvery with Turkey , Lamb, Beef and Pork and a huge choice of delicious vegetables and gravy....all were top quality and perfectly cooked.
Despite having stuffed ourselves stupid, we were then tempted by the pudding selection and I can thoroughly recommend the hot chocolate brownies.
The Manager- Luke - could not have been more helpful and professional if he tried and makes a huge effort with everyone that steps through the door to ensure top quality service.
A gem of a place.

We have visited this place twice in the 4 days we have been here on holiday. Both times have been excellent. First meal was Saturday evening. We sat outside and I had a ploughman's which was huge and delicious. We decided to book the Carvery for the Sunday evening and were not disappointed. It has to rank as the best carvery we have had. There was 4 choices of meat including Lamb, my favourite but not usually offered in a carvery. There was a massive choice of veg and everything was piping hot. We thoroughly enjoyed it and at £11.95 each it was excellent value. The staff are lovely. From the waitress who served us to the chef who dished our meat up and the duty manager who checked a couple of times that everything was okay for us. Highly recommended the Ten Tors.

We were greeted warmly at the front door, easily accommodated us without prior a booking. (Tuesday night) Loads of hand wash, one-way system in and out of the building, all the staff had a face coverings it was very very safe environment. An amazing selection of vegetables to go with the carvery. We had the set two course carvery, I was expecting a small dessert this was not a small portion! (It defeated me!)
The only request i have, in the current situation - please can you provide a drinks menu.

Our 2 courses for £12.50 is a great deal, designed to defeat you, so I'm glad that you enjoyed it and it did the trick.
As for having a drinks menu, this is something that we will consider, given that you are no longer able to visit the bar counter.

We visited this pub today as a couple, we were not booked in but that was not a problem, we were greeted by a young man, didn't get his name but I imagine he had a leading role, he was exceptionally polite and welcoming and deserves a special mention, he couldn't of done enough for us to make us feel welcome, he has the perfect personality and attitude for his job and is a breath of fresh air in the recent times of bad service, ques and can't do attitude in some local establishments. The rest of the staff were very polite and chatty aswell the young blonde waitress that attended us was friendly and chatty, even though it was busy as there was a wake being held there at the same time the atmosphere was calm and professional from everyone. NOW THE FOOD,I had a burger and chips and it outshone my expectations, obviously home made beef burger, lovely sauce and real cheese, lovely little mixed salad, good bacon, and lovely hot crispy chips. My wife had a prawn sandwich with chips and was equally impressed with the quality and quantity. Prices were very reasonable for the quality and service, well done all, your doing it right, looking forward to our next visit, maybe try the carvery next time, that looked lovely as well

not usually one to write revews but the food and service here was just amazing, was made to feel welcome and there covid measures are just enough to make you feel safe but allow you some normality. The carver was a nice polite younger lad and he gave very good service! The carvery was stunning and loads of vegetables. Well done to the staff could see them all working hard. Thank you very much! We will be back soon! Would recommend to everyone
