Welcome to that tea room in Howden. We currently have 18 options of loose leaf tea which have all originated from different parts of the world. We have herbal teas, Fruit Teas, Green Teas as well as Standard Yorkshire and Earl Greys. There are available to purchase to take home if desired. All of our food is freshly prepared; this includes main meals such as homemade soup of the day with bread of your choice. Bruschetta’s and sandwiches with a choice of fillings, sharing platters, as well as our traditional afternoon tea. This was out first visit since the end of the long lockdown, and as always we were made very welcome and served excellent food. Usually we are afternoon tea or occasional luncheon customers, but this time we tried the breakfasts - and were not disappointed....Everything was lovely and served in very generous portions. The only minor drawback was the strongly perfumed diffusers in the room which really interfered with the taste and smell of the delicious food. Easily solved however - just ask the waitress to remove them, or discreetly do it yourself!
The takeaway cakes make temptation completely worthwhile.More
We have just returned for a second time this week for takeaway - the sandwiches are made for you freshly and are really nice. The cakes are fantastic and the portion size is ridiculously large - we had coffee walnut cake and carrot cake ,...both delicious and also great value for money.
Definite recommend if you are anywhere near Howden.More

Visited a couple of weeks ago with a friend. The food was excellent, all home made and at very reasonable prices. I had roasted tomato soup and tea loaf with a lovely proper pot of tea leaf tea. Great service too. Thank you, looking forward...to working my way down the cake selection! Would highly recommend.More
Chips lovely, but had a slice of chicken and mushroom pie which tasted strongly of cinnamon, as if the pastry was supposed to be for a pudding. Couldn't identify any chunks of chicken in the slice. Most odd. I see a picture of a massive...meat pie from this month on another review, so maybe they'd run out of the usual pie . We've had very different experiences with portion sizes each time we've visited, for instance we had a lovely big roast dinner the first time and a child's portion next time, but the cost was the same.More

We take all reviews good and bad very seriously and we like to learn from them all. Our pies are all homemade and are advertised as pie of the day on our menu, so each day it may be a different pie depending on how...More
First time we've visited and a pleasant experience. Very good range of home-baking that catches your eye when you enter - all home made. We enjoyed a delicious and generous sized carrot cake and a date and walnut scone, along with coffees.
We visited on...Sunday and noticed they offer a Sunday roast which includes Salmon which is great for non-meat eaters. We'll be visiting again - probably to try out their Sunday roast.
Good Covid-19 precautions.
