Lost count of the number of times we have visited the Meare café but every time the food is excellent and staff and very polite and service is quick. The quiches are superb and one of the best I have had and the kids always want the Sausage as they both agree they are the best in Suffolk!!

Good cup of coffee, yummy salted caramel cake and plenty of outside seating so you can watch the rowing boats and swans if you're lucky enough to have as beautiful a sunny day as we did.

If you are spending a day in Thorpeness, you will need coffee, tea, lunch, etc. So it's either the Meare Shop and Tea Room, or the Kitchen. Choose both! The Meare Shop and Tea Room is right on the bank of the Meare, with tables inside and out. Friendly staff, prompt and a good selection of cakes. Not to mention... More

The tiny outside of this tea room belied the HUGE selection of home made cakes, pastries and savouries, as well as inside seating. I only had a coffee but it was lovely sat outside in sun. Heard it comes highly recommended.

Had lunch at the Meare tea rooms part way through a walk with a group of friends. The staff were very helpful and the food was very good. Quiches and Paninis are to be recommended.

Just too many reasons to mention here as to why you should visit Thorpeness be it the lovely Meare, the fabulous beach etc but one certainly worth a mention is the Meare Shop and Tea Room. I have been visiting here for longer than I care to remember and what makes it stand out is that despite all of the... More

We popped in here whilst visiting Thorpeness for a quick bite to eat. On entering the tea room to us didn't appear that great, but once we entered, we persevered. We both had a plough mans, I went for cheese and my wife went for ham. They both came with a roll, a pickled onion and a bit of salad.... More
