We (4 adults) were in town for a trip on the Flying Scotsman, along with hundreds of other visitors, so it was not a surprise that all the cafes were busy. However we didn't have to wait too long for a table here to become free (and that gave us time to browse in the gallery). We had teas and... More

We visited with our dog and enjoyed a hearty bowl of soup for a snack. Nice ambience and friendly staff. Nice to look at the artwork as well. Would recommend. Menu looked intetesting and reasonably priced.

So, this is my local cafe. After a walk I call in for a coffee and look at the most recent art on display. All the cake is home made and delicious. When friends visit I take them for a cuppa, interesting artwork and local pottery. Also available to book for a special meal.

Had a late lunch and found it had a good atmosphere and helpful staff. Sandwiches were packed, freshly made and had a nice salad/coleslaw/nachos on the plate as well. Offers options for gluten free items as well which is nice to find. Attached to the cafe is a gallery which has great pictures on offer from the resident artist and... More

We stopped here for lunch having walked from Goathland. What a well deserved treat it was. There was 8 of us in total (6 adults and 2 children) - we were lucky enough to get a table at lunch time. It's a busy place and it's easy to see why. So much choice on the menu - great for vegetarians... More

We visited this café/gallery for lunch after walking from Goathland to Grosmont. I had rung a few weeks ahead and reserved a table for 8 of us and we were not disappointed. The food is all freshly prepared, some organic options, wheat & gluten free options too. I had a delicious cheese & marmite scone with tea (huge range of... More

We've been to the Geall Gallery almost every time we've visited Whitby, either on the train or on bike rides. It's a great place to stop- the room itself is lovely and light and eating whilst taking in Chris's paintings is a real treat. The food is good and the sandwich selection is essentially "if we have the ingredients we'll... More

Visited here with my family. The sandwiches are great and there is a range of fillings to suit all tastes and a choice of different breads or wraps. All the sandwiches are served with home made coleslaw, side salad and tortilla chips. As well as the cafe there is an art gallery which was nice to look around. A good... More

Visited here today before getting on the NYMR. I have to say the welcome is very underwhelming. We only had drinks as we were eating on the train but it's really like they aren't interested. When we left no one could be bothered to say goodbye and thank you either. Buck your ideas up please. I noticed other cafes in... More
