Spotted this place one evening while on holiday and went in out of curiosity. Quirky inside with an autograph wall. A good selection of drinks and friendly staff. No food but you can take your own in if you want - not seen this before!...More

A little quirky perhaps but very friendly staff, clean and with good beer. Eclectic collection of furniture and you can bring your fish & chips in from the chip shop next door, cool or what.

Visited the Champ with my family on a short stay in Devon. Any small business, whether it’s a pub, cafe or restaurant that has Vegan options in a small town or village deserves a shoutout! I had the Vegan cottage pie which was simple, hearty...More

This pub has a lovely homely feel about it. They promote live music which is just great. Due to unforseen circumstances their chef was not at work but in fairness they did their best to accomodate and they put on a limited menu. They have...More

The Champ is a friendly old-fashioned pub. The only pub in the area in CAMRA's Good Beer Guide it is deep in the heart of Appledore, not a restaurant as such though Mike provides excellent pub grub between 5pm-9pm. Open evenings only (closed Monday in winter) we provide great ales, craft and Belgian beers, fine wines, great atmosphere and a warm welcome. Open mic nights Tuesday - Thursday, live bands Fridays and some Saturdays. Check our website champappledore for full listings.
