Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Absolutely wonderful food. Top class service as ever. Me and my partner went for her birthday and we were looked after superbly once again, the staff can never do enough for you. This is our fave place to eat in the region. Top work folks.

A lovely meal with an excellent view. The belly of pork was cooked perfectly. Unfortunately it was served with only 1 potato. The food portions are small but tasty. A good wine list - the Merlot was acceptable.

Three of the five of us chose the fish cakes and the food was very disappointing. The “soft” poached eggs were all hard. The kale was undercooked and difficult to eat and the fish cakes didn’t appear to contain any fish. At £19.95 per portion...we had expected a much better quality meal. We complained to the waitress who was very sympathetic and was disappointed on our behalf but this really wasn’t good enough. This food had not been prepared and cooked by a chef because a professional chef would not have allowed it to leave the kitchenMore

10/10 as always! We love coming here as a family, especially for breakfast on the weekend. There was 6 of us adults, 2 kids under 2 & we were all accommodated perfectly! The service & food was amazing and one of the staff members, Ola,...even brought my dad a birthday dessert over as she noticed that it was his birthday, which was a lovely touch. We will most definitely be back again xMore

Visited for Sunday lunch and were disappointed by the lack of choice on the menu. No poultry option. Unfortunately the meal was very fatty and difficult for the children to eat. For the price that is charged, you would expect better.

After many enjoyable visits, we booked again for Sunday lunch on 22/10/2023 with our family and friends. The restaurant was busy and we were seated quickly. It took a while for the drinks and food order to be taken. The majority of us opted for...the Sunday roast beef (£20.95) a couple had the Toad in the hole (£18.95) we also ordered a number of sides. The beef served on all the roasts was very fatty and gristly, the toad in the hole sausages were pink, cooked but looked raw, they needed browning! The vegetables were lovely, with the exception of the carrots they were solid, the cauliflower cheese was delicious! The service throughout the meal was slow, our waitress was lovely, but stressed, particularly when we asked for pepper and sauces to accompany the meal, she was near to tears, we felt sorry for her, so assured her we were happy to wait. Our customer experience was not great, you need improve on the quality of your beef, employ more staff and ensure all tables are equipped with condiments prior to customers being seated! For the price we paid we did not feel on this occasion, that it was good value for money.More

The Barn looks great once you enter the restaurant, very modern and well placed. Then came the food. Overpriced and bland. Starters Bruschetta had little taste. Main, I went for the spicy mexican burger from the specials menu, the soggiest waste of £21.00. Again no...real flavour. The restaurant is above the farm shop so I was hoping for a real tasty experience, with the restaurant wanting to show off some of the goods on offer below. The restaurant is expensive but you expect that a a farm shop, but you would hope for something tasty. What a shame.More

I’ve passed this place a few times and presumed it would be a cheap farm cafe so I was a bit surprised when stopping off and finding quite a nice restaurant. Went as a couple and we both ordered the veggie risotto. Food was on...the expensive side but fantastic, very tasty. Service was fast and friendly.More

We celebrated my uncle’s birthday in the private dining area last night. What can I say apart from the place is absolutely stunning, the food was delicious and beyond perfection and the service was flawless. Please thank all the staff who looked after us last...night. They are a true credit to the establishment and we can’t wait to visit again!More

Without doubt, one of the best service experiences we’ve received in a restaurant. Claire - you were exceptionally delightful from start to finish. Thank you! And the food was totally delicious (we had steak and burgers). Wouldn’t hesitate to return.

Good job we weren't in a rush today, bank holiday Monday, they weren't busy but the food was so slow, I heard people around us complaining too. When the food came it was very good, hot although a bit staggered. Maybe a chef staffing problem...as the serving staff were plenty and did a great job. Shame as its a lovely place, great view, good outside space. The food is on the expensive side too so it puts a dampener on it to wait 1 and 1/2hours for any food. Hopefully just a bad day as I've been here a few times before and not had these problems previously.More

This was our first time and we weren’t disappointed. The food was gorgeous, it was hot, beautifully presented and the taste was amazing. The pork belly was the best we have ever tasted. Can’t believe how good this restaurant was, the food was amazing, my wife’s steak was cooked perfectly, and my burger, well it has to have been the best ever tasted. The waitress’s were very perfect in every way, with smart service, in a lovely atmospheric...hay loft, with humerus farm animal pictures. We had a wonderful meal here to finish off our holiday.More

Absolutely, there is a ramp up to the building, as well as a lift up to the first floor restaurant. If you book ahead, just leave a note on your booking comments so the team can make any necessary amendments.
