Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.

Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We have come here quite a few times and it is exceptional. Our friends said to us today "we like it here" and that reflects our thoughts. It is a nice atmosphere - the staff and landlady give really attentive service and are friendly and...efficient. The food came in a reasonable time and was of very high quality. The crispy slow cooked pork belly, is a speciality and delicious - the fish and chips are really good. The portion sizes are generous. The beers are at a good temperature especially the Old Ale. So fully recommendMore

We haven’t been to The Hare & Hounds for just over 2 years purely because we no longer live in Framfield. It was so lovely to go back for a couple of drinks and my favourite meal of Liver & Bacon. My father chose the...same & he wasn’t disappointed. The pub has such a warm feeling as soon as you enter and all the staff are so friendly. Thank you for a wonderful night and we’ll make sure we visit again soon.More

Real fire, Chesterfield sofas, home from home and super cosy and inviting. Staying in the village we dined there many times. Excellent fresh home cooked food. 1st class staff Jenny Holly etc friendly and attentive and 101% dog friendly. Lorraine the landlady is enormously proud...of her unique village pub. The belly pork with dauphinoise potatoes individually baked in ceramic bowls are fab. Crackling included with fresh vegetables. Lots of glorious choices and hard to choose. So should you ever be near Framfield then visit the Hare and Hounds. You will not be disappointed .... promise!!!More

We all enjoyed our evening at the Hare and Hound. The decoration was charming and eclectic and the whole ambience warm and welcoming. There was a good choice on the menu and each of the dishes we chose was amazing (see photos). The service was...very good, the staff pleasant and attentive. We didn’t try the desserts as we were so full up from our mains, apart from the ice cream, but they all sounded lovely from the menu descriptions. We finished off the evening with Tia Maria coffees. We will definitely be coming back.More

This is a friendly country pub, with facilities for children and plenty of seating inside and out, some under cover. The staff are welcoming and the food is well prepared and reasonably priced. The drinks were swiftly served and we did not have to wait...too long for our food, despite the pub being busy. The quality of the food is good and there is a reasonable selection - but this is a more traditional menu, with not much choice for vegans or vegetarians. The Thai vegetable burger was mushy, but quite tasty and the food was served hot. Whilst I think that this would be considered a good venue by many people, on many levels, with so many people now either vegan or vegetarian these days, it might miss out on a whole section of clientele, who do not restrict their diets to macaroni cheese. But, in all, it's a nice pub, with a good atmosphere.More

Although the Hare and Hounds seems a little tatty as seen from the outside, the inside, we were surprised to find, was warm, cosy and tastefully furnished. My friend ordered the spicy, Thai burger and I went for the Steak and Guiness pie. Both meals...were well presented, extremely tasty and very filling. The Crumble and the Hot fudge cake were yummy! The service provided by Amber and Holly was delightful and topped an all round satisfying experience. Highly recommend! Date of visit: April 2023More
