By far one of the best value fine dining experiences you can have. I have been going since the 70's and it just gets better and better every decade. Its not the cheapest but i'm always surprised how cheep it is for the quality of food and drink i get. £25 for a 3 course meal on valentines day.. The waiting staff were friendly attentive and had a good understanding of the food and drink they served. 9.99 out of ten. Would of given ten out of ten if there had been peanut butter for my toast at breakfast and a champagne cocktail given to me upon arrival for dinner. Some places do that still. .

While staying at the Bridge of Orchy Hotel, I had dinner at The Bridge of Orchy Hotel Restaurant. I think this was the only place to eat in the village, but regardless it was the most convenient place for me to eat and I can't imagine anywhere in the area being nicer or more inviting than the hotel's restaurant. The restaurant is one large, elegantly decorated room, with, on this rainy day, a nicely laid fire in the fireplace. The restaurant was not crowded (unlike the more popular (and crowded) bar and sunroom on the lower level that served exactly the same menu).. The food was very good. For dinner, I had an excellent meal of Blade of Beef, mash and Lyonnaise potatoes, and cauliflower, followed by a brownie, and with a pint or two. It was very well prepared, tasty, and satisfying. At lunch in the bar, I had had a Salmon, Dill & Cucumber Sandwich with Irish Coffee - also very tasty (and also available in the main restaurant).

Ok first the good bit. We walked in without a reservation as we were staying nearby. We were met by Mate who initially said we could not eat as they were fully booked but when we said we’d just have drinks said if we chose something simple like burgers they could accommodate us. Fair enough as the place was busy on a Saturday evening and we are talking post Covid here. However food wise the burgers were average and frankly overpriced at £14 with no side salad just a few leaves on top of the burger and oven type chips. This place has a captive audience with walkers and I hope is not resting on its laurels.

We went there for a drink in the evening and for breakfast in the morning. Dogs were not allowed in the lounge area so we stayed in the bar area. The Romanian waiter was friendly and the lady at the reception desk was very nice; she helped us arrange baggage transfers. But the morning experience was a disaster. We went there because our west highland way guide said the breakfasts really fill you up. It took forever for someone to come take our order, and the waiter was very condescending (maybe because we were not guests and we had hiking backpacks). We ordered 2 full Scottish breakfasts and a vegetarian breakfast. It took another forever to get the food. The Scottish breakfasts were TINY, a spoonful of a single scrambled egg, a spoonful of beans, a single mushroom and half tomato, and a slice of black pudding. They didn’t put sausages and when we asked why the waiter just said they ran out. We had to push to get it replaced by something else. The guy next to us also had the same problem and complained about how small that portion was (we found him later on the trail having a second breakfast!). And, cherry on the cake, they put some black pudding in the vegetarian breakfast! The only positive thing is that they graciously offered a 10% discount.

The wait staff surperb. The waiter...Mate? Would scan patrons to make sure all good. Service prompt. Best deal and fabulous chef and presentation is for the mussels delicately seasoned broth with lemongrass I can make a meal with those and some crusty bread. Main course a fish and chips with a tender crisp crust. Oil to fry was just right.

The food and service excelled itself on every single level. A perfectly set out menu, clear and varied, not too complex. Everything sounded delicious so we made our way through it over two days and not a single dish disappointed. Huge credit to the chef’s and the waiter/waitresses, every single person was super friendly, welcoming and cautious (of course now an important feature in today’s world). Well played Bridge of Orchy!

Stopped by whilst out on a cycle , ordered soup of the day, the waiter who was very friendly, said “it’s lovely cauliflower soup, very healthy. I was provided with lovely table ware and sourdough bread, however the soup resembled wallpaper paste, and had zero taste. I decided to turn the soup into salt and pepper soup which transformed it from dreary to not so dreary. I ate it as I’m a fatty that would eat anything, but explained to the waiter it was tasteless and he assured me that he would speak to the chef!! Bargain at £6.00. On a serious note, it’s such a shame that there are so many places rippin it out of customers like this. Very embarrassing if you are Scottish.

We booked a meal at the hotel (we weren't staying) based on the pictures and sample menu on the hotel's website. We arrived and were ushered to a room that wasn't as advertised, felt more like a cafe (at best) and then was presented with a menu that bore no resemblance to what was displayed on the website (other than the ridiculously high prices). I had a the most average/poor burger ever with oven/frozen fries. £14. My partner had the saddest looking fish pie with oven chips - £15. Basically, what you see on the site is a million miles away from the reality of the hotel. One shared starter, 2 main (very very poor) courses, 1 pint of beer and two glasses of wine - £58. No idea what the rooms are like but I'd stay well away from this place.

My wife and I booked into the hotel for one night and included a dinner booking. The meal was excellent, someone had put a lot of love into our food, great ingredients beautifully cooked and well presented. The service was excellent throughout..... in fact the best service I have come across !! Great timing, just the right amount of attention, friendly and presentable staff. The people here have clearly put a lot of effort into this hotel and especially the restaurant. I will definitely be back. We chose mainly from the "Chefs Picks" in the menu, I had scallops to start and Halibut with braised beef tongue for mains. I found the portions on the small side my wife was fine with this though.

Food choice is good. From hot soup, through a very good burger, to a sometimes available tomato/basil soup, to a decent salmon this restaurant is a welcome respite along the WHW or while in the mountains. The pub section has "real food, real fire, real bridge". OK, the bridge is outside, but the rest is all true. Washroom facilities are modern and spotless. Bar and bar choices excellent.

Food wasn’t great. Ordered fish and chips £16 by far the worst fish and chips of my life. Batter was thick, tasteless and dry. Burger - average Halloumi fries - same again batter shocking. To top it off we heard another customer mention. “Excuse me I don’t think the humous ciabatta has humous in it 😂 topped the lunch off and made light of the situation. Anyway £64 for a family lunch that was below average. very disappointing. Lager was good so not bad if your stopping for a pint.

My husband and I went for our anniversary and the service was outstanding! The meal was very good and the people there made me smile. 😀 there is a representation of what I looked like when I smiled. They cooked perfectly and we didn't have to wait anymore than 15 minutes for service of any kind. The Stick Toffee Pudding (so fabulous) and such great cheeses! 2 full Scottish breakfasts and the vegetarian meal were great!

We started with the selection of meats and cheese with bread (on the nibbles menu) which was plentiful and tasty. For the main course, I ate the traditional haggis with nips and tatties which was both enjoyable and nicely spiced. My wife had the fish and chips which looked like a hearty and well-cooked meal. Paired with a robust pint of stout, the meal was very nice in quite pleasant surroundings.

£5 for 5 bits of broccoli that wasn't warm. Poor options for vegetarians- we've walked a long way we need more than veggie burgers or Mac and cheese the whole way round. £10 for three slices of cheese and no pickle on a cheese board. Not nice food for the money either but excellent views and service.

Can’t believe after a year of lockdown, four of us stoped for lunch Sunday afternoon at 3.00 at the hotel right on main road not 200 m from west highland way. No food available. Find it pretty pathetic. Drove another ten mins to Tyndrum hotel, great food great service and reasonable. Bridge of Orchy hotel your neighbours can show you how to do it.
