Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I have visited here twice now and haven't had a bad experience. The first time was just after the relaxing of the Covid 19 rules, so the cafe was partitioned with plastic screens. I have only had the toasted teacake and a pot of tea,...so I can't comment on the "meals". Depsite being listed as a "Teacake", what you get is actually two slices of fruit bread. That said it comes with fresh strawberries, jam and cream and the tea is superb. My last visit was in August, I had the same and it was equal excellent - so I was very happy. Now, this places gets busy very quickly - so go early. Now, as to the comments about the owner. I have found her to be quite competent and had no cause to complain. That said, with my experience of her, I can understand some of the comments made in previous reviews. On my last visit, she was rushing around, saying that the young girl that was supposed to be working with her that day, hadn't shown up and she had to go to the local grocer to buy a few things. Now i can read people and know how to "disarm" them and I managed to calm her down a bit. I can imagine though that if the wrong person had gone in there at that moment, she would have exploded!More

We sat outside with the dog and enjoyed a lovely cup of coffee. The menu looked good and they had a number of specials available.

Today myself daughter and grandson went to the glass Onion for tea and something to eat, as soon as we sat down in side, the owner called over in a frantic way..I've got no chicken no this... no that!! we were quite surprised how she...spoke, but I said let's have some cake to my grandson as I could see there was some on the counter ,as I walk over to have a look she said ..we will come over to the table in a minute ' I looked at the young girl who was serving and said ,I'm only having a look at the cakes! she looked embarrassed and said sorry, we then left, so rude...had some lovely food at the Ji-binc cafe, lovely welcoming STAFF. NOT RECOMMENDED.More

My wife and I had a really nice lunch here. Everything was freshly cooked with generous servings and very nice staff. Would throughly recommend to all. It is definitely worth finding as it's a little hidden, not on the main road but only 2 minutes...from the town centre. Thanks for serving up a lunch that was first rate.More

Sit back and chill. We had a lovely lunch in the sun away from the noise and traffic. Fine china tea and a fine choice for a snack. Lovely service with a smile too! Great place to site and watch the world go by.

My wife and I visited Denbigh, and like most people wanted a nice snack and a drink. The Glass Onion is tucked away around a back lane, but it’s lovely. My wife had one of the omelettes and I went for a chicken bap, with...cranberry and stuffing. Both excellent. The cafe is a sun trap with seating inside and outside at the front. Service was warm and welcoming, food was fresh and tasty. The tables and establishment were lovely and clean and well presented. What more could you want. We will return.More

Called in for Coffee on 1 June 21. Excellent Coffee and Cakes but what was really noticeable was the lady running the shop management of Covid-19 restrictions. The social distancing and all other aspects were outstanding. Places like this should be awarded/commended for doing the...Covid -19 requirements so well.More

We decided to visit Denbigh during the lockdown restrictions, we didn't expect to find many places open but the Glass Onion was. It was good to see that all protocols where adhered to, spacing of tables, number of customers, good hand sanitization station etc. More...to the point the service was good and the food was unexpectedly very good. I think the owners name is Sue, I was recommending the restaurant to a friend who told me that he had been there many times before and it was always good. Well done Sue and good luck for the future.More

Lovely food, as lovely service from the owner! Would certainly recommend! It was a nice day so we sat outside with our Dog and a water bowl was provided for him. So I know it's dog friendly if sitting outside, not. 100% if it's dog...friendly when sitting in, but worth an ask if you're visitingMore
