Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

What a gem! Despite catering for a large breakfast party which was stretching their catering resources the Staff Team accommodated Fiona and I, supplied tea to keep us going and then magically produced brilliant breakfasts for us both well before the half hour wait we...had been advised…. All done with smiles and chat from a lovely Staff Team. Well done to you all and thanks from two very happy Yorkshire Folk.More

Absolutely love it here. Just moved to the area and have already visited 3 times. Cakes to die for and not overly expensive. Staff very accommodating and will squeeze you in if they can

One of our favorite places to have breakfast over the past few years. The breakfast is made up of good quality produce and we love the garden. However it is a shame the new owner gives you only half a flat mushroom. Because of this...my partner is now thinking of going else where which is a shame. The big breakfast is £10.95 so I don't think it is too much to ask for a whole mushroom.More

Meet a friend here a couple of times a year, 2 hour parking limit in the square. Lovely waitress served us, lovely food, then after not even an hour, the owner asked us to leave, said he needs the table and you only get an...hour, my friend and Ihad both driven over 30 minutes to meet there, we were gobsmacked, he was so rude and made us feel so uncomfortable that we left, such a shame as the, waitress was so lovely. Won't be returning.More

Wow! The Bow Window was recommended to me by a friend when looking for somewhere new to take afternoon tea, what a find. From the minute we walked in it was brilliant…. Wonderful smiley welcome, we’re seated straight away and every member of staff were...exceptional, nothing was too much trouble, we were thoroughly spoilt and welcomed. Service was outstanding and our afternoon tea was lovely…fresh, pretty and delicious. This will definitely be a venue I will now frequent regularly. Thank you everyone for a perfect afternoon.More

They were very busy but still found a table for 6 for us, in a very small space. Food took some time, but was lovely when it came.

A lovely cafe, with a large choice of meals and cakes. Very friendly and accommodating staff. I loved the chocolate melt drink with marshmallows, and the doorstop sausage sandwich was delicious.

Lovely little place nestled in the heart of Lenham. Loved the great food, equally attentive staff and proactive top of the teapots! Plenty of privacy for a business meeting with a friendly and cosy environment. Highly recommended.

Quaint village cafe. Delicious, generously filled paninis and yummy freshly made cakes. It was a lunch with 2 friends, a lot of nattering right up until closing time but at no point did we feel rushed. Service was outstanding, the staff couldn't have been more...friendly and helpful. Very reasonably priced too.More

Went for lunch today with friends and 3 children. We had panini’s which were lovely. They do a great selection of soups, salads, jacket potatoes etc with lots of gluten free options. We didn’t have cake today but have had previously and would highly recommend....The children particularly enjoyed the hot chocolate with marshmallows and cream! The service was excellent, not rushed and very patient with our indecisive children. Would highly recommend a visit here if you are visiting Lenham.More

This was by far the worst breakfast we have ever had!! We visited prior to this when a full argument took place between the staff about availability but thought we would give it another shot by making a booking. We arrived and a young boy...looked up at us from behind the counter and looked away. A young girl was standing by the till but didn’t look up and there was a genera hustle bustle of plenty of staff but bit confusing as to where the busyness was coming from as there were no customers. Other staff came through ignoring our existence and putting their backs to us even when right beside us. We initiated contact and the first thing they say to you is “Have you booked?” You don’t get a hello or a friendly smile and then another disagreement took place about another customers table allocation. We were told to go and find our table in the “main room” no one took us through and staff stood confused disagreeing over tables and getting in the way. We sat down and finally some a4 clipboards were given to us with a menu. We ordered eggs royale, orange juice, cookies and cream shake and pancakes with “crispy” bacon. The drinks arrived and it was shop bought orange juice and the shake which is charge at a fiver just tasted of cheap ice cream, whipped cream and chocolate sauce, there was no little cookie bits and nothing cookie about it. The eggs royale were underdone and cheap eggs that barely had that lovely rich yolk colour that you get from good quality eggs, my partner cut into the eggs and the watery white bits come pouring out. Her salmon was discoloured and chewy and she had some dry, old green leaves carelessly thrown on top. My pancakes were cold and the syrup had been poured on a while ago so the pancakes were soggy. The “crispy” bacon was just your usual bacon which you get charged £2 extra for. The music was chart music blaring out over your breakfast and people with bikes were walking them through the cafe where we eat!!! No one came and asked us how our meal was and we made our way to the front to pay and get out of there. Only then were we asked if it was ok, I barely got through any of my feedback (with one of the staff shooting round to glare at us) when the server said “well why didn’t you tell us we would have remade it” I responded that I didn’t want to do that and he shrugged his shoulders and charged us full price which was £26!!! The reason we didn’t try and flag down one of the staff running around/arguing is because we didn’t want to make a fuss. Maybe if someone has asked us quietly while we were eating, we would have fed back but we don’t like to cause a scene. To then actually try and give them a little insight as to what our experience was like as we were going to leave and just get a shrug in response as if to say “oh well, brought it on yourselves then, tough!” well, just shocking! We don’t have the money to eat out, this was meant to be a treat!More
