As I was in the area again, I decided to checkout the Rose and Crown’s Sunday roast dinner as it sounded good and great value at £11.95. A starter salad of goats cheese was okay, the portion was lacking and could have done with some more tomato and leaves. The pate was much better, served with toasted granary bread and... More

Called in here when passing. Nice setting, pleasant dining areas. The service was good. The food was good but slightly expensive. I would certainly go again

Chosen after reading the reviews here but really disappointed. First, bear in mind we ate at 4.30pm and went for the Sunday lunch option (about £13pp). The table was sticky and through the service hatch we watched the "chef" place two pieces of cooked chicken on the grill to reheat and then place slices of beef in foil to reheat.... More

We were expecting a review from you... We served at least 20 other roasts after yours with no complaints. In fact, all those late tables complimented us. If you want a fresh roast made to order then go and pay £40/50 for one in a high end venue with a team of "chefs"! We're not a carvery so don't hot... More

Haven driven past and indeed eaten here before I was curious to see that it had changed hands and was now advertising in the local Optima magazine with some great dining offers. Arrived on a Saturday night to take advantage of their 2 rump steaks and a bottle of house red for £25, which was excellent value. The menu is... More

Hi, we went here for lunch, three kids and four adults. The standard was very high, cleanliness, service, the food was fantastic, we had roast dinners mainly and they prepared a special one for my daughter. The setting is great, the gardens are lovely and they have some goats in a compound in the pub grounds. The cost was very... More

I was visiting the area I used to live in due to a funeral and was joined by my sister and her family. Decided to go to Rose and Crown for lunch as near the cemetery. Very welcoming with friendly and helpful staff. Lovely fires on the first chilly day of the autumn and dog friendly. Good choice of food... More

I hadn't visited the Rose and Crown for about five years so, when thinking of somewhere to go with two girlfriends last week, I thought it might be a good idea to pay another visit. We actually went on a Sunday at 6.00pm and, although they only had chicken left at that time, I have to say the food was... More
