It was an amazingly warm April day when we arrived at the car park for our walk around Llyn Crafnant. For those of you with a nervous disposition you do have to travel up hill on what is virtually a single car path, but it is worth it. Being novices we followed the easy route which took us up by... We have visited lake Crafnant many times on trips to Snowdonia and always look forward to a coffee on our walks in the area. Having not been up to the lake for a couple of years it was a pleasant surprise to find how much it had changed with the new owners. lovely coffee with excellent decaff, which is a... More

We drove a long way up the single track road to the lake, only to find this great little cafe at the end! A couple of toasted sandwiches and mugs of tea later, we left very contented. Great location, nice people. Recommended.

We stumbled upon this isolated cafe on a walk through the woods from Llanwrst. It is in a beautiful spot on the banks of the lake and served good cake with an unrivaled view.

The reason for the awful rating is......it seems nowadays to always be closed! We've tried going mid-week and weekends to no avail. So to all walkers who enjoy coffee & cake/toast half way around the lake, I suggest you take a flask and your own packed lunch!

Management response:

I'm sorry to hear you tried to visit us and we were closed, the cafe has always closed in the winter months. We close every season at the end of October and open again at the beginning of the fishing season on the 19 March. The cafe has always been a seasonal business and will continue as it has for... Lovely lady who gave us a warm welcome. The homemade flapjack was amazing - full of fruit, nuts and seeds. Showery day but we sat under the gazebo in the garden and watched the fish jumping in the lake. Beautiful setting.

We called in for our refreshments again on visiting this beautiful location for what is fast becoming a weekly event. Caroline was her usual bubbly, friendly self, nothing too much trouble and presenting lovely home baked/ home cooked food. Two of us had the sausages on baguettes and they were award winning sausages, not the usual cheap ones other premises... More

I was on a little walk from home on a very hot day and decided to nip in as I passed by. Very friendly atmosphere; my friend and I had a nice chat and a few laughs with the lady owner and although I didn't sample the food, the colds drink was most welcome! The lakeside location is enchanting and... More

Bought two coffees from the overpriced cafe and was asked to move on by the owner as she stated she didn't like cars being parked for too long despite the fact there were other cars there and we had spent money. It's a shame the old owners were lovely and these new ones are hardly endearing themselves to the locals... More

We are sorry to hear that your visit to our cafe was awful enough to warrant such a negative review. At the time you gave no indication of being so unhappy with our service, and we certainly didn't envision a negative outcome from you being politely asked to move your blankets and cushions from the car park. There is a... More
