The pub interior is very much in need of a refurbishment, but I kind of liked it. Old 80's carpets, the smell of stale beer, and two tiny bars either side of the entrance. Might not be everyone's cup of tea. However, the pub has...More

This canal-side pub looks quite picturesque from the outside, but is very tired (circa late 70's) on the inside. Our issues were firstly that it was not heated, so we had to eat in our coats despite requests to put radiators on etc. The food...More

Comparable to an old spoons with a nice setting (outdoors). Mostly fried /warmed up food. Bit dishevelled inside as expected. Wouldn’t go back in a rush but does the job if you’re hungry and it’s where you are.

Only went in here for a drink after walking along the Pontcysyllte aquaduct. Loads of tables outside which was great as we could sit with our two dogs whilst we had a drink. Bar seemed a bit dated inside but had a decent selection of...More

The disgusting food SHOULD have been the worst part about the visit to this pub, however, this review wouldn’t be here had that have been the case! The sticky surfaces and smelly dated furniture meant we chose a table outside. The food arrived sporadically, the...More

We came for a walk along the canal and stumble upon this place. We had late lunch and we were not disappointed! Two of my friends had the burger and they agreed it was delicious! They even have vegetarian menu on their list! The portion...More

Extremely friendly staff reserved a table for us and very dog friendly. Food very good. We had had a stressful afternoon and the helpful staff restored our faith in human nature

Not a 5 star establishment but the staff were very pleasant and helpful. We decided to have lunch and were pleased with the outcome. The food was delicious well presented and plentiful.

Haven’t been to this pub since I was about 11 years old and now I know why, popped there this evening after taking the dogs for a walk and was absolutely diabolical. The whole interior is still the same as I can remember at 9...More

It’s a little old fashioned inside but this is a pub that caters for all tastes. You can enjoy a pint of their well kept beer in the garden whilst you watch the canal boats making their way across Telford’s aqueduct and then walk it...More

Our food was excellent. The Hunters Chicken was very good and the poached salmon was even better. Aug 5th. Weather boiling and kitchen busy. Impressed with how they coped.
