Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We were in the area and visited this pub twice for lunch, including a very tasty and generous Sunday lunch. There was a big open fire, and the atmosphere was friendly and welcoming. The food was well-presented and tasty. We met Chris the Landlord –...lovely chap. Dogs are allowed in this pub, just not in the carpeted area. Well worth visiting but probably best to book if you want a meal. You won’t be disappointed.More

My wife, myself and 2 friends stayed in a lodge a few miles up the road. We googled near by pubs with the Bournemouth vs Liverpool game on Saturday. luckily this little gem popped up. We strolled in just after opening time, 12, and the...landlord, Chris made us feel very welcome and lit the tradional open fire for us instantly as the weather was awful. The jail ale was very well looked after, I sampled around 8 or 9 just to be certain. We ordered food just before 2 when the kitchen closes. Great value for money, all freshly prepared and our friend said it was the best chicken pie she'd ever had! The pub started filling with locals, who were all very pleasant. Just after 5 the local football team came in after a game. All very pleasant and we didn't feel intimidated at all with 20ish ravenous men entering at one. We hadn't planned on staying this long but after a few games of darts, great beer and a great atmosphere in a tradional British pub it was hard to leave. We wanted to pop back on Sunday to watch Newcastle vs Wolves but unfortunately Chris informed us he doesn't want to pay for sky, and to be honest I don't blame him. But, fair play to Chris he directed us to the next nearest pub that had it on. A mere 10 miles away in Okehampton. Great land lord, great pub, well worth a visit if you're in the area. 6 out of 5 isn't a choice, but that's what I'd rate it at if I could.More

Holidaying nearby, as dogs are only allowed in one room, we had a takeaway and a bottle of wine at a very reasonable price, and then returned on another day for lunch, when it was warm enough for the dog to stay in the car....Good food choices, good options for vegetarians, plus extensive selection of drinks. I can't thank the staff of the Junction Inn enough, you made a good day great. We had been visiting Winsford Hospital on a Landmark Trust open day and went for lunch at the Junction Inn afterwards. It was such a pleasure to relax over...a meal and such a lovely meal too. I had emailed before hand as we are a fussy lot, two vegetarians one of which is gluten free and the other "normal "one has limited capacity and requires small meals. None of this was a problem and we were all very pleased with food. All the staff were efficient and friendly and the landlord came over for a chat, which made us feel welcomed. Thank you again for making our day out great.More

Another fantastic visit to this village pub! The landlord was very welcoming and friendly, as were some of the locals that we chatted too during our visit. The food portions are very large, and tasted lovely. One thing I like about independent pubs, especially this...one, is the home cooked element to the food, it’s so much better value for money than chain restaurants mass producing meals, and the food quality is second to none. We will definitely be back again soon!More
