Nice food, has potential for amazing outdoor areas, and needed as no dogs allowed in pub.. with this being only local in the area it's a bit of a down side.

Hi Paul B, First of all thank you for your kind compliments about our food, we are very pleased you enjoyed. We just wanted to address your constructive comments about the beer garden and dogs in the pub. So you will have seen we do have a nice patio area with tables and chairs for eating outside. However, regarding the... More

We had two meals at the Talbot Arms and they were both really good. The Carvery on Sunday was the best Carvery we had ever had anywhere in the country. It was delicious.

Talk about lovely owners! We checked in on Friday afternoon ready for a night up at River Cottage HQ. The rooms are based in the old skittle ally out the back so are well away from the pub and hence very quiet and private. There is a lovely terrace right outside and stream/river on the other side so the setting... More

Your host Steve loves cooking and this is reflected in the way the locals gather at the Talbot Arms. The Sunday carvery is very popular with the locals and advanced booking might be a good idea if you would like to visit to see what the locals have been quietly enjoying.

Dropped on for a drink n sandwich (and bowl of chips) whilst on a walk from Lyme Regis. No frills sandwiches but obviously made to order and hadn't skimped on the fillings. I came here last Sunday with some of my family as a birthday treat for my Father. The food was absolutely lovely; the meat exceedingly tasty. This is about the 3rd time we've been to the Talbot for their Sunday carvery and I've always enjoyed it very much indeed.
