We booked a table for 14 here to celebrate a family birthday. It was just superb. We have been here a couple of times before so my impressions are not born of this one visit. The beer is always exceptional, the food is absolutely sumptuous...More

I came here for dinner based off the reviews and I was not disappointed. It looks abit dated inside but the food was a nice surprise. The fire with chestnuts was a really nice touch. We came on a Wednesday so benefited from the 3...More

The food was very well presented and the service good. All four of us chose a different meal and found them all tasty. We especially enjoyed the bread and butter pudding. We were given a free amuse bouche which was nice. The location of this...More

The food is always better than other pubs in the area, served by courteous and keen staff. Good selection of beers and wine to complement the food. Belly of pork my favourite!

First time for us at this excellent gastro pub. Takes a bit of finding down a quite narrow country lane but well worth the effort. We were served with a complimentary amuse bouche and then starters of soup, arancini, monk fish cheek - all thoroughly...More

Went as a group of 8 runners and a dog after a trail run. The service was fantastic and the food amazing. They included a free soup appetiser which was amazing. My liver and bacon was sublime although definitely warranted the extra portion of succulent...More

I was blown away by the quality and freshness of the food. This place looks like a very traditional, old-fashioned pub, but the food is imaginative and beautifully presented. If you're after the standard pub grub options such as fish and chips, you will find...More

Went on a Friday evening with my husband. We usually go for lunch and have been a couple of times for dinner; H&H never disappoints. Food is always spot on; presented beautifully and delicious. Only a couple of tiny criticisms - would’ve liked maybe a...More

Came here for lunch when we were in the area. It was busy so advisable to book. The food was excellent; however the service was not up to the same standard - very little conversation from the waitress and not even a hint of a...More

The Hare & Hounds in Mill Brow, Marple Bridge is a traditional country pub that makes no apologies for the lack of jukebox or fruit machine. We're passionate about what matters, excellent restaurant quality food, prepared by head chef Ryan using local, seasonal produce with beer and ales from our award winning cellar, served in a warm, informal and friendly atmosphere. It's a home from home where you can dine or drink the hours away, basking in the warm glow of the real log fire, chat at the bar or refuel after a bracing country walk.
