As a railway "nerd" I primarily visited the site to see the wonderfully preserved station - the cafe was something of a surprise - but truly brilliant - good basic snacks served by very friendly staff at very reasonable prices - and you can sit...outside on the station platform. A great treat - even if you are not in to railways!!More

This was our first visit to The Whistle Stop at the old railway station in Brechin. Was a beautiful sunny, warm day We were given the choice of table in the cafe or on the platform, which we opted for. Service was very fast and...attentive. The food was good with a great selection of home made cakes and tray bakes. I had the Victoria sponge which was lovely. Will definitely return.More

Lovely freshly made food served by charming people in an old railway station. I couldn’t ask for more (oh, and be sure to ask for the sausage rolls)

Lucky to get 2nd last table. Warm welcome as usual. Wendy and Lorraine still dish up the best soup and toasties ever. Good to see Whistle Stop open again after lockdown.

Went to The Whistle Stop for lunch today. Great location in the old railway waiting room. Staff were welcoming and panini lunch was excellent. Cafe now has card machine for payment. Highly recommend.

It is fantastic having a local, dog-friendly cafe almost on my doorstep to stop off at for a sweet treat while out walking the dogs. There is a good range on the menu and at the weekends they do breakfasts until 11:30am which I'm looking...forward to trying at some point. I love the filled rolls, especially the bacon rolls, and there is a great selection of cakes and traybakes to choose from, all very reasonably priced and each one I've tried has been delicious. Staff are very friendly and welcoming and a lot of work has been put in to this place, well done to all involved!More

Head about this place via social media so had to try it out on my trip over. Although its clean and the staff are nice...I found the soup a bit cold and the cake was quite hard to eat as it was very thick slice...and very heavy...tried to get both warmed up but there seemed to be only one waitress and she was very busy. I would come back if it sorts out a few things.More

Set inside the waiting room of the old railway station with a train still sitting outside in the platform, this is a very special place to visit. The welcome is warm, the homemade soups and bakes are a tasty delight, and the history of the...room is fascinating. My 91 yr old mum who grew up in Brechin remembered getting the train from here when she was a teenager. Well worth a visit if you’re in the area.More

My friend and I had lunch here and we both thoroughly enjoyed. Freshly made meal in a great setting, I will definately be back. Only thing would be great if they accepted card payments but not a big problem. Well done to everyone who has...made this coffee shop a success! XMore
