Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

What a great find. A lovely, cosy restaurant and bar with the loveliest staff. Food was home cooked and well presented. Tasted amazing, we had steak pie and the fish. Shared a sticky toffee pudding which was gorgeous. We will definitely be back.

We were a table of six to celebrate our wedding anniversary with family. We all enjoyed our meals - including a GF meal. Everything was piping hot and the portions were excellent. The Scottish burger was a sight to behold :-) I would definitely recommend...a meal here if you find yourself in BrechinMore

We eat here once a week with our two kids. The staff are always lovely and treat us like old friends. Everything we've had on the menu has been good, and there's a good ale selection on draught.

Booked a high tea for the family after scattering the ashes of a family member we recently lost. We were all feeling a bit raw and emotional so we really appreciated the warm welcome from the friendly staff. The food was excellent - great vegan...and veggie options very tasty and really good value for money. The staff were fantastic, they couldn’t have been more helpful and we had a good laugh on the end. Thanks for everything we shall be back!More

Friendly, welcoming staff in attractive bar surroundings. Wide variety on the menu - 3 of us had 2 courses each (all different) and none of us was disappointed. Great ale on tap, and very reasonable prices.

Some of the best pub grub I have had in a long time. The food was outstanding, even better value for money. I stay in cowdenbeath and I would travel there just for lunch😂😂 really really good.

The outside of the Caledonian could probably do with a lick of paint, but don’t let that put you off. Once inside, it’s clean, comfy and the service is as welcoming and helpful as it gets. The food is exactly as one would expect a...pub grub menu to look, but it’s cooked well, is tasty and is good value. Where the Caledonian really excels, though, is the vegan menu. It’s no more fancy than the standard menu, but is well thought out and executed. Moreover, I challenge you to find anywhere else within at least 50 miles that offers meat eaters and vegans alike at least three starter/main/pud choices each. A far cry from “onion rings” meaning somewhere has “vegan choices”, this is somewhere that genuinely treats diverse dietary needs as normal.More

Just prior to Angus heading to tier 3 we decided to head back to the Caley for an evening meal. Main course mid week for £7.50 was great value and plenty of choice too. Food was lovely, great staff in a pleasant and safe atmosphere,...we will be back when tier 2 returns😀😀More
