We are a family run beach front cafe. We specialise in all-day breakfasts, homemade cakes and ice cream . Along with these you will find a comprehensive menu including freshly prepared stone baked pizzas and our homemade daily specials. You will always receive a warm welcome and a smile when you visit us and can enjoy the amazing view from our patio and promenade seating.

We've just enjoyed our first "real" coffees out since March, at the lovely Beach Hut Cafe at Friar's Cliff beach.
Very good social distancing: one-way / ordering, paying and collecting through the serving hatch, one customer at a time. We'd brought our drinks flasks with us, and they filled them just fine. A small range of cake - our coffee cake was scrummy.
Lots of space between tables - on the beach! Excellent.
No full menu available yet I think, but they were offering pizzas between 12.00 and 14.30.
So pleased this fantastic little cafe, with its great staff, has reopened. It adds such vibrancy and character to the area of the beach front.

We are local and walk down for lunch regularly. The fresh food is tasty and fair priced, home made soups, sandwiches, crab, and fab cakes for afternoon tea.
The location is great, right on the beach with lovely views - although it does get very busy in the summer and any sunny weekend year round.
Only criticism is the coffee - very bitter, not nice at all so avoid it (unless you like very bitter coffee!)

Visited for breakfast on a Monday morning and was surprised at how busy it was! Clearly a well loved spot in the community. Plenty of socially distanced tables outside as well as benches actually on the beach so we were able to get a spot, then you go and order at the window. Staff were friendly and helpful, and the Food came out quickly even though they were busy! Both the meat eaters and vegetarians in the group were completely satisfied, breakfast was delicious and the veggie sausages were the best I’ve had!! Also the coffee was fantastic. All in all a beautiful location and a great cafe, they do takeaway bits as well but with the lovely views out to sea you could sit there all morning quite easily. Will definitely be back!

The four of us really enjoyed our teas/coffees and yummy toasted tea-cakes on the beach, where The Beach Hut Café have placed a number of tables and chairs.
And we watched a lone seal, swimming right by where we were. How lovely.
Always such friendly and good service here, and good value too.

Always been our go to cafe on the beach and especially when we have visitors
However, the last two tines we've gone for breakfast its been really awful. Brown crisp fried egg. Soggy mushrooms hard, part cooked sliced tomatoes burnt bacon.. £20 plus, for one breakfast and 4 cups of tea. Not great value even if food was good.
Real shame as love the views and on our doorstep but will be at the bottom of our list of places for breakfast now sad

We came across this Gem 💎 of a cafe as we walked along the beach on a beautiful sunny ☀️ day in October for my birthday . Staff are so attentive as soon as we arrived we were greeted & seated in the window seat with a fabulous view of the beach . We ordered some bacon sandwiches & coffees & received them very quickly even though it was fairly busy both inside & outside seating is available too. Prices are very reasonable.
Can’t recommend this place highly enough, if you’re walking along this beach it’s a must. We will definitely be returning as soon as we’re in the area again. Thank you so much 😊 you made my birthday beach walk extra special 💎

We were first in for breakfast this breezy morning and enjoyed the view, the Friar’s Breakfast and a friendly chat with waitress Erin. One of the things that we really appreciate is how she remembers how we like our coffees (decaf oat cappuccino with no chocolate) and makes sure that’s what we get. They now have two super duper coffee machines, so the critical visitors should leave more cheerfully next time!

Friendly pleasant staff, nice tables outside overlooking the lovely beach. Thought fish and chips by the sea yum, waited 20 mins and overcooked hard dark brown batter, just like cheap frozen fish from supermarket. Not very nice at all. Really need to invest a little more in their produce.

The breakfasts here are excellent. The friars breakfast is my favourite but youngsters used to smaller portions go for the full monty. They rarely finish it due to the large portion. Having a free car park until 1000 just a short walk away means getting to the cafe before 0900 but well worth it. Sitting on the beach with service from the friendly staff is bliss.

Ideal place to stop off when walking along the promenade or when visiting the beach. It has an extensive menu for those just wanting an ice cream to those wanting a full blown lunch.
There was quite a queue to order our food and drinks but as it was a sunny Easter Sunday, that was expected. The food was average and quite expensive (I had the cheeseburger with chips) but you’re really paying for the convenience and views.
The staff were working very hard and were friendly.

We had lunch here last week, couldn’t believe how busy it was at 2pm on a cool breezy March day. Every seat was taken inside ( quite a small space) so we sat outside along with at least 15 other customers. I asked for our coffee’s to be extra hot, waitress was very obliging, our cheese & onion toasties were really good and served with a complimentary portion of salad..overall a very positive dinning experience.

After seeing the blackboard at the front of the cafe saying they are open 9-5 with a long list of all the hot food they do. We queued up for 10 minutes at 4.30 only to be told they weren’t doing any hot food. Really disappointed. They should mention this somewhere really. It would save people a lot of time and hassle. Had a coffee instead which unfortunately was disgusting. Shame .

Thank you so much for taking the time to write your review. We are very sorry to read about your experience during your visit and will be amending the advertising of our cooking times so this doesn't happen again. We are however extremely disappointed in the way you chose to describe the coffee you purchased. Coffee is very subjective and although you found it, as you so delightfully chose to describe it " disgusting" we have many customers who love it. We are in the process of purchasing a second new machine to replace our oldest one so hopefully you'll give us another go soon.

Why is during COVID-19 restrictions, some use this as an excuse to use disposable cups etc which I personally hate drinking from. What a pleasure to find here that drinks came in proper cups and the snack came on crockery. The young lady serving ( left handed by the way) was pleasant and cheerful. What we ordered arrived within a reasonable time and I have to say this experience here saved the day for us

Excellent café set right beside the beach. The food we enjoyed for lunch was truly amazing, cooked to perfection and served by staff who always had a smile. I cannot recommend this place highly enough.

The cafe was recommended to us by Google as a place that did all day breakfasts and my friend was keen to find somewhere that had a lot of choice. Considering how popular this place is, it certainly didn't disappoint. The menu choices great, all sorts of breakfast sandwiches and hearty meals and various drinks avaliable including milkshakes and the ice creams were amazing, a queue to order but a testimonial to the fact it is so popular but so good at what it does. The food did not disappoint at all, we both opted for breakfast sandwiches and for the price totally excellent value and hard working and friendly staff. Go and visit, right by the beach.
