I had the pleasure of staying at the hotel for 2 nights before traveling to meet up with friends in Spain. I had dinner one night and was so impressed. The staff was incredibly polite, despite my horrible attempts at French. The Perch was delicious...and the staff recommended perfect wine pairings. The lovely porch was perfect to watch the sun go down.More

We went expecting an amazing view and great food. The terrace is nice indeed but it’s surprising very few comments mention the train passing by every 20mn…it really does ruin the experience. Having to stop talking every 20mn while the train passes is not what...we expected. The view should definitely not be the reason to come to this restaurant. The food was good (not amazing though) but the service was rather bad. We waited 1h15mn to get our main dishes…when asked about our order, the waiter kept on saying « it’s coming » without even apologizing for the long wait. Net, it was a rather disappointing experience.!More

Hello Maya thank you for your remarks. Sorry that the waiting time for your main course after your starter was too long for your taste. As for the trains, we are the Auberge de la Gare, but if you had chosen the Auberge du lac,...More

It was our second visit to Grandvaux, and we stayed 3 nights. The rooms are few but delightful - spotlessly clean, as you would expect, very nicely appointed, very comfortable beds and a fabulous view over the lake. The food is outstanding (the filets de...perche and the steak tartare are particularly fine), and the staff are a delight. Merci, les amis - can't wait to go again.More

What a tangible place. So much personal care, so many fine details, such a friendly and honest hospitality. We have been overwhelmed by the culinary offer and the fine, regional winelist. Together with friends, we spent a marvellous evening on the auberge's terrace overlooking Lac...Lemon. Careful, patient still efficient servers who have been working at this auberge for a long time, make the whole difference. Monsieur et Madame Delessert give to this appearently unimposing place soul and spirit. All rooms have been refurbished recently with a great deal of successful planning, keeping the guests' needs in mind. A few, well placed vintage furniture and nostalgic decor make the stay unique - this goes as far as to the vintage coat hangers and coat hooks. All this said it seems needless to mention the perfect yet small breakfast buffet with authentic home-made jam and an excellent cup of coffee.More

The food served and staff welcome here are terrific. And you get to see a selection of Swiss trains over lunch from your table.....visit the Domaine Croix Duplex afterwards for a wine tasting.

I’ve been visiting Grandvaux for years and finally had a chance to eat lunch here with my daughter. It was fabulous. You should know they grow their own herbs which makes each dish delicious. All the staff are efficient and friendly and our food was...superb. They made a homemade beet soup that tasted so fresh and the color was amazing. I hope my photos do justice to everything. The salad dressing was delicious and we also had the perfect perch. Reservations are necessary as it’s always full.More

Not a cloud in the sky. The sun was just beginning to set with soft colors of pink & coral over a gigantic yet very calm lake against snow peaked mountain chain. My heart was leaping with joy as we’re approaching the hotel through the...restaurant backing onto a young & very green vineyard. I can’t remember the name of the waitress from (France) with a huge smile on her face she welcomed the 10 of us to our rooms upstairs. Each room decorated in boutique style furnishing cleverly designed with mixing the old and the modern. Coming from London I was so so happy to see a kettle! And not to mention the tea selection tea were of great quality! My aunt commented that she loved the coffee. We went straight to dinner at the hotel. Ordered mixture of dishes with beef, fish, pork, shell fish, pasta and vegetables and desserts – compliments to the chef and kitchen team because they were all so very tasty and flavorful. Just a dab of herbs and the dishes tasted so vibrantly. Our cassava desserts were wonderfully creamy and custardy. It was really truly a sensational meal. We loved it so much that we had the desserts again the next before we left the hotel. I’d highly recommend this hotel which has some of the most dedicated and friendliest staff. The location is a gem and I cannot wait to return soon! Shhh...don't tell anyone......More

We have been meaning to visit for some time but always reserved on the day synonymous of too late. We finally went for a 3 people family meal and were very impressed. The first impressions are efficient, simple, clean. The service is amicable. The menu...is nicely presented, nicely varied with opportunity for all kinds of expectations including gluten free. We don’t like overly rich food and were impressed by food that can be heavy (souris d’agneau, rognons de veau, etc) that we found easy to digest. Starters and deserts were really cleverly prepared. We found the prices really fair and look forward to returning to test the terrasse in summer.More

We were staying in Vevey, but spent most of our time exploring the Lavaux vineyards. Grandvaux was a bit far afield but we decided to go for lunch based on reviews here. We did not stay at the hotel but ate at the restaurant. Sat outside on the terrace even though it was a bit cool. They even provide individual blankets that you can bundle yourself against the cool weather. We found it humorous and refreshing that...this 1 star Michelin had pink & white polka dotted paper napkins. The perch was excellent. These are fresh water fish and small filets. Reminded us of our local blue gill or crappie fish. The bottle of Dezeley, local white, grand cru, was the perfect acommpaniment. Loved it.More

This place is pure bliss! The food is delicious, generous and using local products of a high quality. The menu is diverse and offers regional specialities together with feel-good dishes. The filets de perche (fish) were well cooked and the staters were delicious (morel cream...tartine and Easter salad). The dessert was a home-made mille-feuille with strawberry. They did the puff pastry from scratch; the taste is not comparable to any puff pastry I had before. The wine menu is worth the visit: a large variety of regional white wine (the local grape Chasselas) and local red wines (Pinot noir mostly). The wine prices are really low for the quality of the drinks they serve. Indulge yourself to a bottle of "old Chasselas", which takes creamy/nutty/oxydated tastes (think elegant sherry with a creamy twist) as the wine ages. The service is friendly and makes you feel at home (kudos to our waiter who blended attention to detail and a genuine smile. Nice decoration, beautiful terrace in summer and a cute balcony where you can enjoy the aperitif before dinner. The restaurant (it's also a hotel!) is a few meters away from the Grandvaux train station, which makes it an easy-going trip. A must-visit place for a moment in heaven! Visited March 2018More

On a sunny day, we decided to take a road trip to Montreux from Geneva. We asked Fabien our friend to recommend us a place and according to him, he heard about this restaurant while watching TV one night but he hasn’t had a chance...to visit. We searched the web and; Voila! Make a reservation to be sure you have seats. It is located on top of a hill in the midst of Grandvaux’s terraced vineyards. A nice drive by the way; make sure you have a good GPS. There will be a sign with an arrow. Once you cross the tracks, you will be relieved that you have found the place. It is located adjacent to the train tracks but the property is overlooking Lake of Geneva; beautiful! It is a small space and it seemed to be operated by the family who also runs the hotel with the same name. Once you are seated, the experience happens. The staff speak english so if your french is rusty, that wouldn’t be a problem. The menu is basically starters, mains and dessert. As starving travelers, we tried to order a little of everything. In my opinion, it was one of our best meals in Switzerland. You must try their fresh fish caught from the lake cooked in their various styles. For some reason, the flavors were very distinct which left us in a mystical daze; really. What had just happened? A gastronomic treat. Combine it with their recommended wine just sealed the deal. We were happy cows.More
