Tonight's meals were delicious. We chose both the specials, roasted parsnip and honey soup and half lobster salad. Both were very flavoursome. The liver main was cooked to perfection and the sticky toffee pudding one of the lightest I have eaten. The waiter was attentive and polite so why not 5 stars. The evening was marred by the loud, pretentious... More

Our first visit to Craster (and to the beautiful county of Northumberland). After parking up, checking out the kipper smokehouse across the road, and a walk to and from Dunstanburgh castle, we popped into The Jolly Fisherman for a drink. Our sandwiches were in the car, but once we saw meals coming out, we decided to eat there. Our meals... More

We used to live locally and try to visit as often as possible. The seafood continues to be excellent. Crab soup was nice and "meaty" or should I say "crabby" and pasta stuffed with lobster delicate.Fish pie had lots fish in it and bouillbaise was served with sour dough. first time we'd used Open Table and was easy.

The location is wonderful, next to the little harbour and right on the coastal path. But that is all, not so jolly and not so special. We arrived a little to early and had to wait to be served two coffees from a pot that was already on the hot plate when we came in the first time. Go for... More

A family tradition of our Northumberland beach holiday is the walk from Dunstan Steads, along Embleton Golf Course, past Dunstanburgh Castle and a turning point at the Jolly Fisherman. Finding a seat in the garden can be a little tricky and the service does not seem as efficient as it could be but the seafood platter when it comes is... More

Hello and thank you for your kind comments on food , service and venue. I can assure you that I as the owner we do everything in our powers to prevent rodents, unfortunately they do live up and down the coastline in burrows and surrounding fields. We follow strict food hygiene policies and environmental duty of care procedures to the... More

Visited twice whilst on holiday as the pub is dog friendly - lovely food - highly recommend the Fish Board or Prawn Sandwich. Looking forward to coming back in March next year.
