The Tytherleigh Arms is a treasure . The rooms are clean bright and comfortable. Well appointed and fairly spacious. Tea and coffee with home made biscuits ( a promise of what to expect for dinner) is available in each room
There is a patio area...with garden chairs outside each room.
Booking for dinner is advisable as the restaurant can get busy, not surprisingly as the food is excellent and there are interesting choices on the menu.
I have eaten a fair few pates and chicken liver parfaits, but the offering from the Tytherleigh was in a class of its’ own. Served with a mini home made loaf, with a caramel topping , mini mushrooms and tiny pickled cauliflower florets, it was a thing of beauty and deliciousness.
Though I really like meat, I have chosen a vegetarian option on the last two visits. These did not disappoint, they were innovative and delicious. The desserts are delicious with lovely choices.
Breakfast is freshly cooked , and again excellent quality. A far cry from the ubiquitous breakfast buffets, each breakfast is freshly cooked , and not doing battle with the shared toaster, Your toast accompanies your breakfast so it arrives hot with your food.
There may not be a stack of croissants or buns, but who needs these when excellent alternatives are on offer
It is an oasis in a desert of fast food restaurants and places that serve meals covered in gloopy gravy.More
