We stopped here on the way to Wellington for a quick coffee at 3ish. We saw that they were closing up but it was still open and there were around 5 employees in store. We walked in and they scattered like ants once they saw us. We waited at the counter for a few minutes blatantly being ignored until we... More

Friendly staff, great value and good coffee. Burgers for 2, breakfast for 1 and coffee for 1 - all for under $25. Definitely not main centre prices.

Another 50s automat cafe where you setup a tray and grab what you want from pre-made sandwiches to meat pies. Average but edible.

There is nothing like calling in nice and early and catching the fabulous scones just out of the oven. Fresh and tasty. Wonderful hot coffee and full of flavour. Gotta love the jaffa lolly with your coffee. Relaxing music. A must stop on your way through.

This is set on the Main Street in about the centre of town. Looked interesting, so went for the hash stack, and flat white. It was quite busy, so sat outside on the footpath seating, and watched the traffic going bye. Coffee came out fast, and meal soon after. Very enjoyable. Will try here on my next visit through for... The place looks great, good parking, nice atmosphere, great food, but THE SERVICE IS LACKING A GOOD KICK IN THE PANTS...having waited a long time for our breakfast meals, my travelling companion was delivered a Meat stack meal when he had ordered a Vegetarian stack meal (both on menu) and the kitchen staff had the rudeness to bring the slip... Soul breakfast and vegetables soul average meals. Ordinary sausage. Watties hash browns and a corn fritter like you'd get at a fish and chip shop.

My mother stopped here a week or so ago and ordered a veg breakfast and a coffee...she then realised she didn't have her purse so cancelled the food and just had the coffee. She then sat down to have her coffee and then a few minutes later a staff member came over and quietly offered to give mum a meal...how... More

There's not a great deal of choice in Taihape, we thought this place was the best. 4 of us had breakfast, all meals were good. Parking was easy out front, seating is comfortable, tables well spaced. Coffee was quite good. Summary: If you need a place to make a stop, this is probably the best in the area.
