The 16th century Fleece Inn has always provided a warm welcome to locals and visitors alike. In 2015 it became a Free House and closed for major restoration; the entire ground floor was restored (including modernising the kitchen and toilets) using the best techniques to expose and enhance its original beams and other features. There are two dining rooms; the first is large and airy the second cosier and more casual. There is also a comfortable snug and a bar area with a warm fire during the winter months. I have lived in Bungay for just over 2 years the fleece was being refurbished when we move in... Unfortunately I have left it till now to visit what a mistake... This place is amazing food perfection and staff attentive highly recommended... 10/10
My first time visiting Bungay and I definitely chose right in terms of restaurants. A gorgeous pub with a huge fire. I was unfortunately 30 mins late so they offered us a seat in the bar area which was totally fine.
