Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Excellent lunch with friends at a traditional pub ie not a restaurant with a bar like so many others in south Bucks. Delicious smoked haddock special on spinach bed with poached egg and curry sauce. The fish pie and braised beef get top marks too...- Apple crumble with CUSTARD rounded it off perfectly. Beers, wines and food were all presented well by the young waiter and the cost at £35 each was just about acceptable (-1*) but sadly nothing is cheap in this area! We will be returning, thank you.More

Another amazing Sunday lunch at The Walnut tree! Thank you Grace and the team for always looking after us! So welcoming (including our little dog!) with delicious home made food! We love coming here for the Sunday roast, they offer smaller plates which is ample...for us as the portions are very generous. The sweet menu is also very tempting! At the moment they have a lovely 2023 festive specials menu which we will definitely be trying! Thank you again! And see you soon.More

Dropped in for some food and a drink whilst passing through. Unfortunately the kitchen had closed 15 mins earlier. A lady who may have been the owner came out and son sorted a limited menu for us, how amazing and great service. So very much...appreciated.More

Enjoyed an excellent lunch today with my friend who lives locally. Attentive waitress served us, and explained to us the food that was on offer. We both had a Ciabatta each and shared a side of chunky chips. One is adequate for two people. To...finish the meal we chose the Apple and mixed berry crumble and custard. We savoured every mouthful! We plan to visit again very soon.More

Oh dear this pub is attractive outside but inside beware the manageress ! She is not welcoming but bar and serving staff good. The food here is hit n miss and expensive. They advertise "wraps" but they are thick sausage roll type and not good...for the gut ! They need to review their menu. Sadly you cannot just drink in this place, if you do not order food you are not welcome. Its pretentious and there are much better options closer to hand.More

Sadly not the food i have come to expect! We have visited on numerous occasions both with family and friends and had a good experience. I had a burger and when it arrived it looked like it had fried onions in it but alas it...was some sort of burnt cling film or wrapper. We showed it to the waiter who as you would expect was horrified and then the manager /owner came out and apologized. sadly I did carry on eating it once i removed said item instead of sending it back but i didn't want to waste as it was only one art of the food When my daughter went to pay and this is the bit that earns this review we had only one beer taken off the bill and the food we had to pay for. Sorely disappointed .More

We booked as a family to have a Sunday roast and hadn’t been to the walnut tree for a couple years. The pub itself is lovely and we were sat next to a warm fire. Unfortunately the service was disappointing the waiters must have come...up to us a dozen time for our order and we felt extremely rushed. Secondly the food arrived the Yorkshire pudding was burnt and the quality of food was underwhelming. One particular staff member seemed very hostile and like she didn’t want to be there. Overall disappointing and not what we had expected.More

Just back from an evening out without the kids. We had the opportunity to try The Walnut Tee but did not know what to expect. The website does not do it justice. The food was excellent and really friendly service. I had the Steak and...Kidney pie which was one of the best pies I have had for a long time. My wife had the chicken breast which also very good. If you have room for dessert try the Marmalade Brioche Bread and Butter pudding it was outstanding. Now looking for an excuse to go for Sunday lunch.More

Did not feel incredibly welcome. Pointed to a table to sit at, was not keen…asked about another area to sit ‘it’s closed’ I was told. Moved to a table once another couple had left. Continually told they were closing at 10. Reluctantly put another log...on the fire, buts small one as they were closing at 10. Again told that they close at 10. Bill brought over at 10, followed by the card machine, again told they close at 10…will not be visiting again. Will look for somewhere else that does not close at 10. Sorry for putting you out with my business.More
