Found this place whilst walking around the centre of Carovigno. It seats no more than 20 at a push and the atmosphere it quiet and intimate. The host was very attentive and the antipasti perfect with dish after dish coming out from the kitchen. My steak was cooked to perfection. Shows how good the food is when the locals are... More

Called in to Carovigno for lunch and we visited this restaurant on the main piazza. The food was really good - particularly the seafood linguine which was superb. There was also a orecchiette Ragu with rabbit - which was full of flavour. We followed this with a mixed seafood grill - this was particularly good and so fresh. It was... More

We managed to nab the last table the evening we were there. The antipasti is amazing, fresh and varied... you really do not need anything else. I could not finish my pasta that I had also ordered.

Hiding in plain sight, this traditional trattoria has the benefit of outdoor seating in Carovigno's charming, hilltop piazza. Delicious traditional fare, perfect prices.

If you want to eat here you must make a reservation, we saw countless people turned away. The menus all in Italian (not that I expect any different, just for your info) but we worked it out fine. We had the anti pasta for 2 (€22) between us and the kids. A lot of the dishes are raw seafood, a... More

Went for lunch and ordered antipasti for four. It was an amazing selection of dishes. There must have been at least 12. A lot of it is raw so my kids were not that keen but my husband thought it was amazing. V good value.

We went to La Cantina on the recommendation of someone who lives locally. And because we were a party of 7, their curious advice was to order only four portions of the antipasti de la casa. This we duly did, not fully knowing what to expect. The plan was to savour some antipasti and then move on to some main... More

It's lunch time and the first stop since landing at Brindisi. Sitting under the awning in glorious sunshine you knew lunch should be good, it was. As a large dinner was planned for the evening we intended just a single course, but this was defeated by the arrival of nibbles, fried bits and pieces that remarkably left not a single... More

Nice location in the centre of Caravigno, but we found the food to be poor quality. Everything was too salty, even the fries as served were inedible. The pasta dishes were OK but not good, the fish mains served whole, were coated in salt which overpowered any flavour and was overcooked. The owner was rushed off his feet trying to... More

Being in the beautiful rustic square of Carovigno is always a good start. Carovigno is off the tourist map so expect menus in Italian, quiet beautiful squares and home cooked food. We had the antipasti as suggested by trip advisor and were very happy. We were expecting rustic charm, but actually got something more refined and some beautiful modern tastes.... More
