Wonderful meal and fantastic service. We attended this even for my husband’s birthday. We were greeted with a glass of Prosecco and they also sang happy birthday later on in the evening. The staff when above and beyond. Lovely atmosphere, great people and even better...food. Highly recommend.More
Sunday lunch menu online stated 'Our roasts come served with seasoned roast potatoes, parsnips, Yorkshire pudding, cheesy leek gratin and fresh market vegetables' The actual menu and what you get is far less choice and more expensive. There is no gratin, or choice of market...veg. You get parsnips on your plate with the meat, yorkie and roast potatoes (I needed my steak knife to cut the skin). Then you get carrots and red cabbage on the table. The only place I've ever had Sunday lunch and no green veg available!! No worth the £18:95.More
Thank you for your feedback. It would appear that between checking our menu online, booking and visiting us, our menu had changed, which is something we do every months and more frequently given the constant inflationary pressure we're all experiencing. When this happens, there may...More
It's not the cheapest prices on the block, but you donget your value for money. Having have onion rings, fries, and garlic mushrooms and peas included in a steak meal is not common for under £24 . Table booking online is easy, staff were friendly...and approachable. Food and drinks came in a timely fashion. My steak was beautifully cooked and was delicious, as was all the sides. The rest of my friends were also very happy with their meals. Would happily return.More
Thank you so much for your wonderful comments on your recent visit to The Squire & Sodbury Steakhouse. The whole team were chuffed to read your comments and look forward to welcoming you back again soon. Kind regards.
I visited the Squire with friends on Friday night. Although I have been here before, this is my first review. We had booked in advance and were shown to our table in the rear restaurant. The staff were friendly, helpful and were prompt with the...drinks order and water for the table. All our party had burgers for our main meal, as this is a speciality of the restaurant. I had a 'Plain Jane' cheeseburger and chips. The burger was very tasty although the beef patty was a little dry. I wonder whether the beef patties were cooked in advance or to order. This wasn't enough to put me off though, and I thoroughly enjoyed my meal. The chips were also nicely seasoned, not greasy and crispy. I did not order a dessert as we shared a birthday cake (bought by us but presented by staff), but I was tempted by more than one item on the menu. I will be returning to the Squire to try out more items on their menu. The restaurant/pub is one of best in Chipping Sodbury and I always recommend it to visiting friends/family.More
Thank you so much for your review and for passing on favourable comments to your friends and family. We can assure you that the burgers are all cooked fresh to order, we're sorry you found yours a little on the dry side this time. We...More
A first time visit, and we were impressed with the roast menu, and associated starters. the beef was well cooked, and it was unusual to find carved ham on the menu, which was a rare treat. Not sure about serving it with beef gravy, and...perhaps asking if it was required would be a good idea. The vegetable serving were varied and sufficient for the table. An appropriate range of sauces were available and the cranberry nicely presented in an individual jar. The service could do with a little polishing, and I had to interrupt a staff 'gossip' in the kitchen in order to find someone to pay the bill!More
Thank you for taking the time to publish a review. We were pleased to read that you had enjoyed yourselves and will be discussing your constructive criticism with the teams in our next staff meeting with them. We do hope to see you return in...More
Sunday lunch was absolutely incredible! The beef and lamb was so tender, potatoes crispy and fluffy and home made pigs in blankets. Superb! The only slight issue was the restaurant was boiling hot, we had to use our menus to fan us. But we did...open the windows etc which helped, no way a complaint though and will 100% be returning!More

This is one of our favourite local restaurants near our home. The steaks and burgers are always great, and the service is prompt and polite.

Booked a table online at Friday lunch for the Friday evening. spacious tables, vast wine menu, lovely staff And of course excellent food!

I’ve been to the Squire on a number of occasions and have not had any reason to complain. On Sunday. I took three friends for a Sunday roast lunch and it was horrendous. The parsnips were raw in the middle as in crunchy and the...roast potatoes looks like boiled potatoes with gravy on. They were clearly not part boiled and there was no roast on them at all and to cut them the insides was hard. I asked the manageress to address the situation and she thanked me for my feedback, and to be quite honest, she might of said nothing or words. I can’t write within this review. We were not offered a discount off the bill. Any replacement vegetables or a complimentary dessert, nothing. At £18.50 a head it felt like a complete rip off and spoiled our lunch. I did do a negative review On their website, but for some reason it does not appear, so my negative review is being filtered which is why I have chosen to post this review on TripAdvisor. There are other places along the High Street that do a really lovely Sunday lunch, so when you’re making a booking choose carefully.More

We came here today for a Sunday roast. It was excellent thank you so much! Staff were great and attentive . Will definitely be back ✨
Another visit and another superb meal. Friendly service and fabulous food as always. Portions more than enough, especially the ribs!!! Worth mentioning that if you're planning on ordering one of the larger steaks you'll need to order 24 hours before as they only keep a...limited supply. They do say this on the website though to be fair. Will be back again soon.....More
Becoming a regular on burger night Tuesdays! Last night was probably my favourite visit. The bacon double cheeseburger combination was fab. On par with the Christmas burger for sure! Fantastic service as usual and having heard the chef was quite new, burgers were cooked to...absolute perfection. 5 Stars!More

We had a fabulous family meal at the steakhouse. Food was amazing, we all had different meals and loved it all. Even our toddler devoured hers. Staff, brilliant as usual. Friendly, attentive, helped with organising balloons during the day and bringing out cake and candles...for the birthday boy after the meal. Even gave us a goodie bag with ribs to take home (there were so many and we didn't want to waste anything). We had a really nice evening. Thanks guys 😊More
