Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We stayed here for two nights so we had breakfast and evening meals here. The food was lovely and all the staff were very friendly and helpful. We joined in with the locals for the Monday night quiz which we thoroughly enjoyed. Would recommend the...inn to anyone and would definitely stay again if in the area.More

Paid in advance for 2 nights accommodation, dinner and breakfast. At checkout wanted to pay for extras taken, namely 2 pints Guinness, 2 pints Coke and supplement for a Rib-eye steak, but was repeatedly assured there was nothing to pay, so voluntarily made a payment...of £30 for "gratuities". On returning home found my credit card had been charged an extra £125.50 for these extras. No refund or explanation has been forthcoming from the Hotel or its Group Head OfficeMore

We have been here on numerous occasions and have driven from home which is approx. an hour away for meals as the food, atmosphere and service has always been excellent. We are staying locally for the weekend and decided this was the place to visit....On arrival the bar area was busy which is a good sign. We quickly discovered that the business was under new ownership and heard several people mention the launch of a new menu, which we found to be limited on choice. We ordered our food, which was served in a timely manner, however in our opinion and from previous experience the quality was lower than expected especially at the price point that has been set. The bar got busier due to a party going into the restaurant and at points whilst eating, we had drinks passed over us to other people, were leant on, bumped into and even had coats laid on the chairs. Whilst this is not directly the restaurants fault, but the rudeness of certain individuals we felt the people should have been taken through and seated alot sooner than they were as their tables were ready. Sadly, on this occasion we were disappointed and hope the new owners take this on board.More

Visited here on the first night of our stay in Norfolk. Nice looking pub, shown to our table next to the radiator which was great on a cold night. The guy who was serving the drinks was a bit load My wife is vegetarian and...so she chose the Broccoli and Stilton Soup. Unfortunately the soup was so salty it had to be sent back, this was replaced by halloumi chips which she found ok. I had the squid which was nice. For mains I have the fish and chips the fish was ok, the 7 or 8 chips were disappointing my wife had the vegetarian gnocchi, which again was disappointing. On a brighter note our waitress did really well despite all the challengesMore

What a shame promised so much but delivered so little . Meet on arrival by a most pleasant and helpful member of staff ordered some drinks and sat down to review the menu , from there it went down hill .Ordered our food and another...round of drinks which we had nearly consumed before one meal arrived acquired about the other to be told as there was only one chef on there we still cooking the fries and would then plate up .Eventually we received and consumed our food , long wait for the table to be cleaned and another wait for a waitress in the end gave up and went to the bar to pay our bill which had we been inclined we could have let without paying . Disappointing end to a pleasant New Year HolidayMore

I had the pleasure of visiting this pub over 5 evenings while on holiday in the area. I’ve been in many English pubs but this was by far the most friendly. There was a sense that it was a local but also welcomed visitors. It...is a very dog friendly pub. Kids also welcome! The beer is good, the staff are welcoming, efficient and friendly and while I didn’t have the opportunity to eat there, the food being served looked excellent. If you’re in the area for the beaches or Norfolk Lavender worth a 5 minute detour off the A149 for a visitMore

My husband and I stopped by for lunch today… I have to say I did not expect what we received. This establishment is so improved from when we last visited approximately 3 years ago. Although we live locally this had been struck off our list...- NOT ANY MORE! Bruce the general manager is exceptional- outstanding customer service and a willingness to accommodate individual needs. He knows his beer (in a professional sense) and the choices of wine were impressive. The vegetarian food we sampled was super - freshly cooked ….beautifully presented with imaginative accompanying sauces. The attention to detail was excellent so full compliments to the chef. Thoroughly enjoyed New Years Day and will now begin to frequent. Please try…. It will be worth your while! Thanks team, Dr BMore

13 of us pre booked to eat at 7.15, we arrived in plenty of time and were seated at our table just after 7. The 10 fish and chips eventually arrived at 7.45 ish, the 3 of us having meat dishes had to wait about...10 minutes longer for ours. It was the worst burger and chips I have had in ages - the bun was burnt, the onion rings were burnt but the bacon on top of the burger was barely cooked. I’d asked for skinny fries, but chunky chips arrived, that could have been our fault, but having waited almost 45 minutes for some food I wasn’t going to ask them to change them. Wont be eating there againMore

We visited the King William on our first night of a long weekend away, a very welcoming greeting. We had a couple of drinks, apparently the Guiness was "excellent". We walked home to our rented cottage to a fiasco, we had lost the key! After...much conversation with the owners and their offer to drive over a spare key, we walked back to the hotel, Bruce and his team, couldn't have been more sympathetic. Luckily they had a vacant room which we took for the night. He even said if he hadn't had a room , he would have let us sleep on the sofas, rather than let us be in the car. What a true gentleman and a perfect host. A credit to the Red Cat pub group He and his team went above and beyond, great pub, great food and great rooms Bruce, we will be back and we thank youMore

The wife and i went to sandringham christmas fair and stayed here for the night, after We arrived about 40 mins early and had to wait in the bar for about 20 mins for room so we had a drink, the room was ok, if...a bit dated, for myself bed was to hard so didnt sleep great although very quite location. Staff were friendly, especially bruce, who seemed to do quite a few job roles. Food was nice although we had a friend who lives in the area meet us for an evening meal and was given quite a small piece of chicken compared to the amount of vegetables she had on her plate, my wife had steak which was a little bit tough and i had sausage, mash and veg which was quite nice. Breakfast was very nice, not a bad selection to choose from. Overall not a bad stay but not sure its worth the high price tag seeing as we've stayed in cheaper places that were slightly better quality, but for one night it served our purpose.More
