This is my favourite pub! Every time I visit, the staff are friendly, the food is excellent and there is a great atmosphere. I visited last week with family and friends. We sat in the cruck barn near a roaring fire, which was cosy. I had the roast beef, which was served with a huge Yorkshire pudding and delicious vegetables.... More

We have been before to the Craven but haven't been for some time. We decided to go for a birthday meal after a nice walk around Burnsall. We did have to book and we had a great table in the centre of the room. The atmosphere was lovely and relaxing with some great music and nice lighting. The service was... More

We Irish like to think we have the monopoly on great pubs, but from the moment we walked into the Craven Arms, l was impressed. If you like atmospheric, cosy pubs where the fire's lit and the staff are welcoming, this one's for you! Food is excellent, well priced and menu extensive... even catered for my gluten and dairy-free friend.... More

Not much else to say really.. the perfect untouched, unmodernised pub with excellent food and beer! Original gas powered lighting. I'd recommend the meat pie .. the fish and chips and the gammon.....

We booked a specific table 3 weeks in advance at the Craven Arms as we knew that our disabled daughter's wheelchair would fit under the table because we had checked on a previous visit, and anyone reading this know that any one with disabilities need to plan things well in advance. This was a special occasion of my wife's 60th... More

We had lunch here with family, and thoroughly enjoyed it. The building itself is steeped in history and full of character, and the service was excellent. There were four of us dining, and we had the haddock chips and mushy peas, the belly pork and black pudding, goats cheese beetroot and spinach wellington, and the lamb dish. Each meal was... More

This as the title says is indeed the perfect pub. Open fires (winters only of course) great range of drinks indeed something for everybody. The food is superb well presented and with the emphasis very much on traditional English cooking. The only note of caution is that the portions are large--typical Yorkshire some would say. I would recommend the pies... More

Ate here two Sundays ago. It was very busy so make sure to book a table. The manager was great at helping out our table with a food intolerance issue. Food was delicious. Meat cooked well and vegatabmes very flavoursome. Massive Yorkshires. Service was quite slow but understandable due to how busy it was. Looking forward to having our wedding... More
