Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Stopped for a breakfast on the way home, the Puffing Billy is tucked away off the main road in railway siding and looks industrial but persevere past this, and you will be surprised! We ordered at opening 10am, two breakfasts with drinks, all served very...efficient and politely. Very quick service and piping hot! The restaurant (we only sat outside) is dog friendly, which is good for us having 2. The station master breakfast was great, I didn't expect the choice of Tom's or beans though, I thought the signature dish would come with both, I'd say a strong 8/10 could have raised to a 10/10 if both were served, and a better quality baked bean was used.More

I stopped here for something to eat after cycling the Tarka trail. The service was friendly and they had a good selection of gluten free options. I had a cappuccino and a gluten free bacon sandwich. Both were nice, and the bread tasted homemade which...was much better than supermarket gluten free bread. The toilets were a bit grubby. The car park gets full quickly so I arrived early and had plenty of spaces.More

Looks small from the outside but has lots of outdoor seating as well as lots of indoor seating. Its charm is that it's very obviously an old railway station, they haven't changed it beyond recognition. Very busy as it's a popular stop on the Tarka...Trail. But service is quick without compromising the quality of the food, which was excellent. This not a 'fast food' outlet, everything is prepared and cooked to order (except the cakes of course!). Milkshakes were thick and creamy and delicious! Loads of choice on the menu from English breakfast to wraps and salads. We had the avocado and feta salad and fish finger sandwich both of which were gorgeous.More

Stopped here 10 miles into our cycle ride along the Tarka Trail. Lovely atmosphere and very good welcome. Food menu was varied and exciting. Didn’t have to wait too long for food to arrive and was hot and tasty. Reasonable prices and a very welcome...stop on a very cold day. The only criticism would be the toilets. They were extremely cold and not very clean, but that didn’t really spoil our enjoymentMore

We had a lovely cream tea for two here. Our first time here, such a quirky cafe, really yummy menu, unfortunately we found it on the last day of our holiday, definitely would of gone back there. Staff were really friendly, especially the young blonde...lady who gave us directions to the Tarka trial. Would definitely recommend if your in the area.More

Called in here with friends for a cup of tea. However, we saw the cakes on display and couldn't leave without trying one each! 3 opted for the bakewell tart and everyone raved about it saying it was the lightest sponge topping they'd ever had...and it was also very almondy. I had the chocolate fudge cake and I was in chocolate heaven. We will be returning.More
